The only thing that doesn’t ring true is the quoted fee. If we sell him for £300k, there should be a bloody inquiry. Could be that he has a clause for that amount, but, if so, it should not have been agreed to.

Would have to be some very big add-ons in this deal. Obviously the lad sees himself at a better level than us which is fair enough but £300,000 in todays market is criminal for someone as highly rated as Adshead is, with international honours. |  |

I'd like to have seen Adshead more in a Dale shirt (still might) but def. more time on the ball/more respect the higher up you go and obv. that's where any skilful midfielder/player will want to aim. I'd hate it for him to be played this next season and get seriously crocked in L1 with all the ability he's shown thus far.
Morley seems much more of a physical presence (which you need in all mens footie) but then who'd not go for Matheson with 110% tiger-fighting ankle-biting never-give-up attitude. OK, stuff to learn on the positional side but greeeaaaat attitude! | | | |

It’s the way things are everywhere now. It’ll come out in the accounts eventually.
The main thing is there’s a clear plan within the reduced budget (correct decision) to allow for a percentage of fees received to be spent on the squad. |  |

Deals like this will always be undisclosed due to the complexity of the deal.
It would be great if we didn’t just slate the board of directors & CEO without any given proof.

Bit of a shame it would have been nice for Adshead to have had the opportunity to make a real impact in our first team but money talks. Surprised it's not with a season long loan back to us, maybe that could still happen depending on the preseason. | |

Agreed on the basis that Adshead will be no real loss to the team as he’s not proven himself as being a L1 regular. The nearest comparison would have been selling Jamie Allen after a year or two of him breaking into the team - Allen was a regular and crucial to the way we played. (I know Allen was a couple of years older) | |

Obviously there will be add-ons etc included in this deal.
People going mad about a potential (unconfirmed) 300k deal need to settle down a bit.
If Adshead has the potential, he will move on for a much higher fee in the future and we will get a healthy cut from it.
Just like we did when Hogan etc moved on. These are the deals that have allowed us to be competitive in League One for 6 seasons now. Without these deals we probably can't afford the wages of Hendo, Wilbraham and we go back to struggling in League Two.

Time left on his Dale contract.
Likelihood of breaking into the first team this season
If he gets one, Hill's slice of the transfer fee.
