Or not?
We're having the piss taken out of us...

All day Gao out. Let us be clear though, he is not to blame as it took a certain other individual to grant him access to SFC.

I am actually beyond giving a śhit tbh now. I go to be entertained, and win lose or draw (provided there is commitment) i am ok with whatever results come our way.

Cue the next load of tosh tweets from the training ground.

Gao loves the passion...…….

Gao isn’t a manager or an elected official. He owns 80% of the club and any move he makes will be governed by financial considerations; either by choice or by necessity, and a few well intentioned idiots chanting in front of the offices won’t make a jot of difference.

Aye, the situation we find ourselves in is not of his making but he’s clearly not the man to take us forward. The sooner he sells up the better.

You make a very good point there, Baz, and the danger is that even if Gao goes, we could still be stuck with the person who is responsible, Kat. She might also make the sale of the club difficult by demanding far too much cash for her 20%.

If it makes not one jot of difference, then it's better that not one soul turns up at the stadium for the next home game.
Like all of us, I went through the double relegation and subsequent return to the top flight with some trepidation but always had that optimistic feeling that eventually it would come good.
This time there's no good feeling or optimism. There's that wall of silence, there's that feeling that we are just a cash cow commodity to be dropped when drained of resources.
As someone mentioned elsewhere, even the stadium is not being taken care of, and is starting to look run down.
As you say, anything we do will make no difference, but I'm fu cked if I'm going to pay out £40 plus for a ticket, money for food and fuel and then sit in traffic on a cold night to watch any more of that shite and be patronised with a free scarf or pint by some Chinese money launderer.

I agree that Gao is failing he definitely needs to go. However according to Katharina Liebherr he was the man to take an already declining club forward. Does he have the financial clout to bail us out now even if he wanted to? (Genuine question btw.) If he doesn’t who is more to blame? The fool who has bitten off more than he can chew by taking it on or the previous custodian of the club who knew he may be out of his depth but sold 80% of the club to him regardless?

Its not about financial clout, we spent £40 million in the summer, £60 million if you include ings in that, it is about using the money well and that is down to the people running the club not Gao, we failed to buy a central defender and that is what is costing us dearly not Gao.

This is the 21st century football clubs are now owned by individuals not run by a board comprised of local businessmen, Gao is not running the club any different to the last 10 years since Markus Liebherr took over the difference then was we had a director of football who knew how to run a club in Les Reed and someone who could sign good players, we have had neither in the past year or so since Reed went

So if you scream Gao out you are naive at best clueless at worst, Gao will cease to be the owner only if someone comes along and buys him out.

The worst scenario is that he turns his back on the club and we drift with no one able to make any decisions and spend any money.

If Gao had wanted to get his money back then he could have done that last summer, he could easily have blocked any incoming transfers and pocketed the £60 million we spent, if that was his aim then he would have done that but he didn't

Unless there is someone out there willing to buy him out then we are stuck with him and we have to hope that under Matt Crocker we can buy well in January.

There will be a few links early in the window, then it’ll go quiet with a few
More late in the window, we may get a loan in or someone we’ve never heard of with a post window “we tried but it’s a tough market in January” statement

We’ve got to sell to buy, no one will buy our deadwood so it’ll be more loans

Cedric, long and Yoshida are out of contract in the summer but rightly or wrongly two out of those three are in the first XI every week so we need at least two new signings just to stand still. What a shambles

We won’t make any permanent signings in January as the moment we use the words “relegation clause” will be when the agents take their players elsewhere.

A couple of loan signings at most.

What a bizarre comment. Name one owner in the premier league worse than Gao and Kat? One thing we know is those Chinese hate to lose ‘face’ and possibly the only thing that will make Gao want to cut his losses is a united front from fans with the clear message that both he and Kat aren’t welcome.

You talk about the £40m, well that’s Gao’s employees who spunked that money (not counting Ings in that). What’s £40m anyway; absolutely pathetic investment for what should be a relatively established premier league club. If Gao really cared about the club he’d instal some proper experts and not have the rag tag band of directors we currently have. It’s the fans duty to stand up against Gao and Kat, and the way they’ve sent the club backwards.

OK, so let's just say it's not Gao's fault, do nothing, continue with the same useless team, the same failing Southampton way which Gao advocates. Let's just carry on as we are, selling to buy, not investing, no direction from Gao, no new defender in January as Gao says we must sell to buy, and therefore we go down. The empty seats increase and we go down - Good plan. Ignoring the will of the people is not very clever Nick! The fans will disappear in their droves if not listened to.

Goas leadership team is made up of a bloke who used to run a marketing agency, a bloke who worked for an aviation company, a bloke who worked for Toyota and his daughter, not a single
Person with any clue about football or running a football club. When reed went we were told he was going to be replaced by several people, he wasn’t replaced, Wilson went 3 months go, okay we’ve got Crocker coming in but he’s not here yet and won’t be for the January window.

So who is responsible for the lack of leadership and industry knowledge running the club?

Nick is right in that the people below Gao are to blame for certain things but seeing as Gao has the power to hire and fire them it’s very odd to claim he has no responsibility for them. As owner surely his job is to oversee the running of the club (even if only in a very loose sense) and put money in if needed. He’s doing neither at yet Nick doesn’t think he’s to blame for our current situation!

Exactly this and i cannot believe Nick defends the owner in this particular area of the business.

The people at the club who are the ones failing / totally incompetent (because they are not football brains) have all been hired by Gao, or if not could certainly be ousted by Gao. Gao is more responsible than the clowns running the day to day operations. How anyone can defend the guy in this regards has to be seriously clueless. We are not a PLC so there are no shareholders, and aside from Liebherr with her measly 20% the little laundryman can do exactly what he likes.
