That is absolutely no way on gods earth Wetherspoons could not have managed to cover their employees pay for a few weeks even without getting back 80% from the tax payer. If unions hadn't had their rights removed by successive governments w@nkers like Tim Martin couldn't get away with it.

Unions are only effective when they represent a workforce that cannot be easily replaced. In the 19th century Mill owners broke strikes by bringing over Irish workers, todays ‘Masters’ fill jobs with Eastern European’s.
