Saints v Arsenal 09:32 - Jun 25 with 1335 viewsJaySaint

Fancy us here (well, not to lose anyway)

They are ropey as hell but dangerous in attack

we should have comfortably beaten them at theirs but gave them a gift in the last min...very saintly of us.

going for 3-1 to saints. Ings is bound to score, as he is fecking awesome!
A win will put us behind them on goal difference!!!!

It's one of those games where everyone seems to fancy us now, which rarely ends well. However, I'll remain positive and go for 2-1.

Surely Arsenal can't be as bad for three games in a row. They've got some great attacking players and as we know we switch off at the back, so sadly, think it's an Arsenal win this evening.

It so often does not work out like that, in fact it is a known thing that if you are a player who has not scored for ages or a team that has had a bad run, a good team to play to correct that is Saints.

I feel Arsenal will respond tonight. There will be goals but that is about all I dare to predict.

To be fair, when Stephens, Bednarek and Bertrand played with Cedric, they were not terrible in defence. The weak link appears to be Valery. Let's hope he improves or that the others can cover for him. Other than that, you'd expect us to beat Arsenal on current form.

As for Walker-Peters, who knows? He could be better or worse than Valery. I guess we'll find out one day but I'm not sure Ralph trusts him yet. The other alternative is to play Ward-Prowse at right back but that, of course, weakens our midfield and he is not an experienced wing-back.

If we could buy one player this summer, Max Aarons would be ideal to solve our lack of a good right back but it's a pity we can't recall Cedric. There probably isn't enough money available to buy one player, let alone two, but if we could afford the luxury of an upgrade on Bednarek, it would be a bonus.

Bookies have us as favourites apparently and they are not wrong very often, and you'll get 20:1 for that score

Trouble is I think players are still getting used to playing in these empty stadia etc and to predict a result must be difficult

But I'm with you re Arsenal, very close assuming they don't start bragging about their salaries etc as that will get Danny well and truly fired up!

Rightly, wrongly, worryingly or whatever way you view it, I have a feeling Saints will thrive without the "pressure" of the home crowd. One thing that is clear to me about Saints, despite having some good players, they are mentally weak at times under pressure. As we know, they can easily collapse. It will be interesting to see how we perform in an empty stadium, without pressure. I am going for a 3 - 2 win. Come on you Saints.

Performed well against Norwich. Ok, Norwich were cr@p, but although more pressure to come tonight we should just edge it but I won't be putting money on it

I dont think the high temperatures are going to do our high energy high press tactics any good, whilst it may well suit Arsenals tippy tappy passing game.

Just imagine how much sh!t GwenDozy is going to cop from the crowd after his sh!thousary against BHFC ..... oh wait!

It must purely be down to the way the team is set up - i.e. better away from home. Whatever it is though, they need to get a grip and get it sorted.
