I agree. That might not appeal to one or two of the more negative souls on here, but he’s grown hugely as a player and is very important to us.

I wonder what his market value is? If PEH gets £25m, JWP must be worth a shedload more (so much easier referring to players with initials, innit?).

He’s been superb this year and has improved no end. At this moment tying him to a big long contract makes good sense. Of course things can change in football but he deserves a new deal.
