Current Covid Stats 16:47 - Aug 10 with 9754 viewsBoris_

There is currently 11 people in the whole of Southampton area in hospital with Covid, 2 in the Portsmouth NHS Trust and 2 in Winchester and Basingstoke hospitals.

No ICU patients in Winchester or Basingstoke hospitals.
No ICU patients in Portsmouth,
5 ICU covid patients in Southampton.

So across the whole of Hampshire, there is FIVE people severely ill with Covid ( none of them admitted in the last 2 weeks... they have been there a while )

There has been ONE Covid admission in to a Hampshire hospital since June.

Why don't the local press want to share the good news, instead of trying to make people feel guilty for going to the beach etc, where it clearly is perfectly safe to do so?

These stats are fantastic news. No doubt that the usual suspects on here will be quick to jump on and paint more doom and gloom.

On another thread, Ian said ( in relation to Russian inteferance )

"If the evidence is clear why is it impossible to quantify the impact? Doesn't follow at all.

Perfectly possible to attempt to draw reasonable conclusions based the knowledge available around messaging campaigns and voter intentions.

Only impossible if you want to bury the evidence like the govt was trying to do"

So what you are saying is that it's perfectly acceptable to draw reasonable conclusions based on the knowledge available... unless it's something to do with ethnicity, in which case we should all bury our heads in the sand and ignore?

Before anyone starts popping open the champagne, a women in China who had the virus previously and recovered has now tested positive again.

You can take it any way you like Doris. He wasn’t mentioned and there was no inference, apart from in your own head. Still, you carry on spouting your nonsense about the virus, you seem to be as clueless about it as the people you constantly big up.

I had high hopes for you yesterday. Now you're literally saying we must ignore issues if they involve anyone who isn't white British and if we suspect that someone who isn't white British is involved, we need to ignore it because that would be racist.

You also appear to be incapable of looking at clear data and drawing a pretty obviously and crystal clear trend between them which highlights an area of concern when it comes to the spread of the virus.

Not even worth responding to Boris. It's a classic tactic of yours to deliberately misrepresent what someone is saying.

It's interesting that you should feel the need to put words in other people's mouths but other than that pretty boring.

You crack on in your solipsistic little world.

You're not very good at this argument stuff, are you.

Have you come across the idea of a non sequitur? You should look it up.

I am not arguing mush. You haven't put up an argument.

Let me give you a simple yes/no answer. 11 of the 13 most infected regions in the UK also have the highest Asian ( primarily Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi ) percentage population in the UK. Between 3 and 12 times the national average.

Do you think that it might be possible that these two FACTS might be linked? Yes or No?

It might be possible, yes. Certainly worth investigating. I am imagine those responsible for such things are doing just that.

It would be interesting to understand the complex causes and effects at play. Is it cramped housing, 'sweat shop' working conditions, excessive socialising, language difficulties in understanding the guidance...?

Or it could just be down to the fact that they are 'Asian'. We could just say that it's an Asian problem and leave it at that...

I would suggest they have investigated it hence why Greater Manchester is on a very specific lockdown which prohibits households from mixing with other households indoors and invoked it the day before Eid but everything else including pubs and restaurants are unaffected.

This also suggests the government ( and more to the point, local Labour councils ) have clearly identified this as the major contributor to the spread of the virus.

Unfortunately due to the politically correct world we live in caused by wet blankets like you, they are scared to tell the truth incase it offends the snowflakes.

This virus is still killing vast quantities of people everyday across the planet and it is very clear that the “experts” are still learning about how it works. You are onviously not an expert in virology so l’m not sure what makes you think you can talk about it with any authority anywhere, let alone on a football forum. Perhaps you should go back to counting the money you have made out of it and leave the rest to people who know what they are talking about and don’t have blatant agendas?

So...as I said a few posts back (if you bothered to read them), the people responsible are on it. Which means they're not ignoring it or being 'politically correct' about it.

Do you still know what the point is you are trying to make?

Or is it just any chance to have a pop at 'Asians' or use the word 'snowflake' ?

Ah here we go. Here now he's twisting it and trying to make out that I for some reason am against 'Asians' just because I'm stating a very clear and obvious fact which you cannot seem to bring yourself to see.

Same question to you as Soppy. Do you question your purpose in life? Sitting in your bedsit, pushing your left wing ideology to a bunch of strangers you've never met on a football forum?

Pretty weird behaviour pal, isn't it?

If you chose to generalise about 'Asians' when you don't need to, I'll draw my own conclusions.

And there's no need to be rude, leaflet-crybaby-boy, we're just having a chat.

I bet you don't go to Corriander Lounge Indian Restaurant for a curry as you're disgusted at the generalisation, yes? I've been in plenty of decent Indian restaurants that are owned by British, Bangladeshi, Pakistani people - why do people call them Indian restaurants? Disgusting!!!

The generalisation offends me! Wahhhh wahhhh you big cry baby.

Calling something an 'Indian' restaurant is a description, not a generalisation about Indians or Indian restaurants. Are we really down to this level of dimness?...

I think the heat is getting to you today, Boris. I'd get to the beach if you can.

Explain your problem?

People from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc describe themselves as Asian on the census. Why do you appear to have a problem with it?

One last try...

It isn't a problem to describe someone as white, black, Indian, Pakistani, a jew, brexiteer, or asian.

A generalisation is when you say 'blacks are...', 'asians are...', 'jews are...'

No more. If you haven't got it yet, you never will.

Perhaps you should heed your own advice Doris?

As for the virus, the UK has recorded over 1000 new cases a day for the third time in a week so probably not the best idea to be complacent, eh?

Also the deaths directly relating to Covid has dropped by over 5000.

Sorry for being the person to break the bad news to you Soppy, I know you'd prefer for this virus to claim as many lives as possible to suit your agenda on a football forum.

My brother works in the pharma industry and is currently working with a team at Southampton Uni who have developed an interferon inhaler which, in trials, has reducing mortality rates by 80%. It stops the virus reproducing in the lungs. Sounds promising.

That's because there is a delay in new cases which are rising and translating into deaths

If deaths have still dropped in 3:weeks time that will be the time to be happy not now

I hope you are right in your assumption that things will continue to get better

As long as the towns up north ( that by complete coincidence and completely unrelated have 10 times the Asian population as the national average ) sort themselves out then things will get better. Unfortunately there will also be people like DroopyIan who will try and divert from the issues rather than addressing them.
