Season Ticket renewals. 21:51 - Sep 2 with 30569 viewsEsox_Lucius

I was chatting on the phone tonight with Dave Thomas and we spent a long time discussing what lay ahead for us both. We are both now in the seniors category so and fans likely to be allowed back in the ground wouldn't include us, and most of the friends we have both made in many, many years whilst we have been going to W12 and around the country.
This would mean the end of our regular seats in the Upper Loft through no fault of our own and the thought of buying a season ticket whilst not being allowed in the stadium doesn't sound in the least bit attractive on a fixed income. Sitting in a stadium with just a few thousand fans who are not allowed to sing or cheer doesn't set the body tingling either and the whole issue of entry and egress, coupled with toilet breaks means it is going to be fairly unworkable.
Having had a lifelong viewpoint of don't just keep coming up with problems, come up with solutions I had a think. Foremost in my thinking is...
*The club need money to survive and season tickets form an integral part of that each season.
*I don't want to pay for something I am not going to be able to use for the foreseeable future.
*I don't want to give up my seat in the Upper Loft.
* I am not interested in swapping out my matchday ticket for a stream.
What I came up with was to permit the club to take out the direct debit as normal once they are ready to do so and offer a number of options as to what fans want to do with that season ticket.
Redeem it with a stream for home and away matches until such a time as fans are allowed back into the stadium in a reduced and managed capacity.
Redeem it with a stream for home and away matches until such a time as fans are allowed back into the stadium in the normal fashion.
Neither of the above but, for the duration of the period before normal service is resumed, each match ticket not used is credited towards the following seasons season ticket on a one for one basis.
This would allow fans who sit together to retain their group of seats and still allow the club to get much needed funding.
Thoughts?

The grass is always greener.

Regarding the bubble thing - the logic seems to me that if you attend matches as a group of members of the same household, then you will be allowed to sit together in the ground, without having to socially distance from each other. This will mean they can let more people into the ground, in total, which is why they will prioritise bubble applicants in the ballot.

If that is the logic, then it makes good economic sense for the club. Although they haven't explained it very well.

My mate, who I sit with, is not in the same household as me, so there is no point us applying for tickets as a bubble.

I think.

Can you not have a bubble with one other household? I thought that was how it worked but I might be wrong on that

Yes that seems to be right. Although based on the new announcement late last night by the government on new restrictions from Monday, it is debatable whether the return of fans will be allowed at all for the foreseeable future. Wonder if the club will have to send out another update or does it fall into the exemption for organised sporting events.

I thought a bubble was people who only mix with each other, and not other people outside the bubble - whether it's a one household bubble or a two households bubble?

Anyway. I would think it is unlikely that I would be given many tickets in the ballot, so I will get most, if not all, of my money credited back for the following season. Therefore I get to see all the streamed games for free. The club gets my money up front, for this season - an interest-free loan, in the worst case scenario. It seems a win-win situation.

I do hope they have thought this through . . .

And of course I'm lucky enough to be able to afford to pay for my ST upfront. Sympathies to those supporters who are struggling financially.

I don't think you'd struggle to get tickets, I think if you miss out on the next game you are a priority for the one after so you'd get to go to some.

Way I see it if the capacity is say 4,000 to start with I can't see us having more than 8,000 season ticket holders so for all the complaints about loyalty being rewarded etc you will end up going to one game then missing the next until capacity is increased especially as out of those who renew not all of them will want to go to games due to the change in where you will sit etc

Good point. Although I am in an "at risk" group, so I'm not in any great rush to get back on the Central Line just now.

I remain very skeptical that we'll be able to attend at all in any capacity.

My dad who I sit with has also been diagnosed as very ill, and going without him would be too upsetting so there'll always be two spaces going

It did say bubbles would have a better chance in the ballot as the club's priority is to maximise attendances.

I know the club are trying their best in these challenging circumstances, but refunds and the position if no fans can attend at all is not clear. Also as the government's announcement and even tighter restrictions if Covid figures rise has in my view thrown even more of a spanner in the works.
We don't know how or if local/regional lockdowns are imposed where does this leave people in terms of attending, even if they get a ballot ticket. Also if all 23 games are behind closed doors then that is a double whammy for the club they have provided streamed games for free and also no revenue as will have to either refund all 23 games or provide credit against the next season future tickets, although in today's FAQ it does not say credit on future season ticket just against future tickets. This needs to be clarified.

The refund will be your choice so you can have the cash back, vouchers for the shop or credit to future tickets, would imagine that would include a season ticket

I've renewed. And I feel good about it! It feels like a bit of a return to normal, and I've paid my yearly tithe to the club that has given me so much - ahem - joy, over my life.

I have also booked a flu jab and a Covid antibody test, so I'll be as ready to return as I can be.

And my walking football is due to resume on Friday 18th as well

I renewed 3 tkts back in February. But for one reason or another I have today requested a full refund on all 3 tickets.
Deliberated for some time but cant see foitball with crowds this side of christmas and without the social aspect of sitting with friends or having a beer b4 and after the match just wont be worth it.

This is the only downside:
Plans for spectators to attend sporting events in England from 1 October are to be reviewed, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed.

Johnson, speaking at a Downing Street news conference, also said pilot events in September would be restricted to 1,000 fans with social distancing measures in place.

Help needed.

I am notoriously thick on all things tech - but where online do we renew?! When I log into the seat section of my profile on the offish, it's leading me to buy a new seat at the higher price, not my old seat at the loyalty window price. Due to reduced staffing at the club atm, no joy phoning or emailing.

Any help appreciated as keen to see the annual Forest demolition stream.

When you sign into the ticketing page it should have a message on the right saying you have a season ticket to renew, click on that and it should be straight forward. i say should I ended up having to ring the box office for mine

I had trouble with this as well. The club website is not always the most logical. Log in, then click on your name in the top right corner, then on "My seat". Then my usual seat with the renewal offer came up.
