Yes, OK so far.

Frank has scored on debut, Jackson red-carded on debut and Sears has scored for the team he joined after us.

And Bonne of course has scored for Charlton whilst the forgotten man has scored for us!

One can but hope Durham.
Wonder if the new lad will start on Tuesday instead of Harriott? Or Poku?

Possibly Chilvers to stand down for MTC.

I assumed that was a wardrobe malfunction

Thoroughly enjoyed the first half, gave a lot of promise for the season to come. Their equaliser on half-time was clearly the turning point, but what about Pell's speculative strike straight from the restart, and from within his own half - their keeper genuinely had to be on his toes to keep it out.

I'm not sure if it was the U's backing off second half, or just that Reading began to show their Championship credentials, but it was much less pleasing on the eye from a U's perspective. We were undone by two very well-worked moves, and to be honest they could have scored more. But no disgrace really, and plenty of positives to take from the match.

Looking forward to seeing how we fare against Pompey on Tuesday, and yes, hopefully a run out for Martell too.

Edit: I was vaguely amused that the commentators clearly had no idea that McGreal had moved on.

Wessex loved the wardrobe malfunction

Commentary was from BBC radio Essex so no suprise there.

MTC will play Tuesday at Pompey.

How did Scarlett play or did he not give a damn

Lol - would love to be able to say Scarlett was gone with the wind

First half was plenty of energy up front, lots of lovely one-touch passing stuff, with Scarlett playing his part in all of that. Much more anonymous second half, but we were chasing shadows for most of it - but Harriott should have grabbed a second consolation near the end.

My commentary was from the Royals, so they can be forgiven for not knowing all things Col U.

Selecting Martell will add some spirit to the side.

Loving the Gone With the Wind jokes

Was on the road today so couldn't watch but on paper Jevani Brown scoring again is the biggest positive I'm taking out of this game. Is this 3 goals now in the past month?

Hi Gerry

I feared a defeat yesterday. In truth we have lost 6 quality players and we are asking an awful lot from the youngsters.

Jevani Brown is beginning to deliver but we are desperately short of strikers.

MTC will play at Fratton Park and we will be able to judge the team after the Valley Parade game.

What is of concern are the injuries to Chuck and Paris Cowan-Hall before a ball is kicked in anger.

I will be writing a prospects for the season piece ahead of next Saturday.

Steve Ball got them playing some decent one touch football but defensive errors again proved costly.

It doesn't matter what level of football you play no striker means few or fewer goals.

More than 12 years since our last 20+ goals striker tells its own story.

Sadly yes plus Chuck Norris and Tom Lapslie.

If Jevani Brown continues his good form then he could link up with MTC on Tuesday.
