Stmichael you need to stop the righteous indignant Sun newspaper type rants and look at the facts. 1. It is common knowledge he has a muscle strain that caused him to miss the last two weeks of the Spanish season. That season ended on 19th July, Salisu like all professional footballers who played in the restarted league would then have been given a short break, this is professional, a finely tuned athlete has to have a break. 2. Salisu joined Saints just as he should have been reporting back for pre season training, but he had to sort his stuff out in Spain and then come to England to go into self isolation for 14 days, meaning that he would not have been able to do anything other than use an exercise bike for that period. This period would have ended at around 1st September 3. So he would have reported back for training after a six week break and not having played for two weeks prior to that. It would be unprofessional for Saints to try and rush him back, a normal pre season would aim to get players to peak condition in six weeks after a six week break. So Salisu coming into contention mid October is exactly in line with medical science and a normal pre season. But of course this doesn't fit the agenda of having a go at the club for being unprofessional. But the Hasenhuttl interview didn't say he wouldn't play until October it said that he felt that he would not be ready for the starting line up until then, at that time the club would not know how quick a healer or how much natural fitness Salisu has, they would also want to see how quickly he can adapt to his new surroundings and his team mates. So Hasenhuttl has under promised and we will now see if the player can over deliver and be ready earlier . You Mike are a coach, albeit at childrens level, but you would be well aware that there is no way Salisu could come out of quarantine with no pre season training and just be fit and ready to go Your research into the actual situation is what is amateur beyond belief as it is so easily shot down | |
