After Rashford’s brilliant display last night it got me thinking about our substitutes who went on to score hat-tricks.
Chris Dagnall springs to mind, simply for how special it was. A ?9-minute hat-trick, coming on for his first appearance after half a year out injured. Beautiful.
Rene Howe scored a second half hat trick v Grimsby I think but played a full game, remember it as his first half performance was one of the worst I have ever seen

He came on for Lee Thorpe after half an hour in that game, so add him to the ‘hat-trick sub’ list.
I stand correct memory mustn’t be as good as I thought
I do remember there was a game he was terrible in the first half and got a rollocking from Hill, and then he played like a man possessed in the second half.

Actually think Seasidedale might be sort of right as Howe was awful in that 15 minutes! Funny how some things stick in the memory.
I just remember shaking my head in disbelief as Daggers went and grabbed the ball from the back of the net after his third. Great memories of a great team.
