It’s not just a parent thing. Someone could move to a country, immerse themselves in the culture and love the place and have a genuine heartfelt desire to represent their new home.
A good example is Rupert Moon, English but moved to Wales and fell in love with the place. He had a successful international career for Wales and would have died for the shirt. Someone who just rocks up to get an international cap and has no real affinity for the country (Andy Townsend, Tony Cascarino et al), just devalues the whole concept of international sport in my view.
You might just as well as have golf at the Olympic Games....doh!  | |

If he was he wasn’t doing a very good job. I have made it clear that I don’t have a problem with national boundaries when it comes to sport. It only becomes a problem when people use nationalism as the Nazis did or has Trump has been doing. I think you get the drift 😉 | | | |
