We're light in the u23s with Lewis Webb involved with the first team and none of those with scholarships ending being offered a pro contract. We've got Benda, Hamer & Webb in first team training, Gould on the books but not really a prospect at his age, then there's just Tyler Evans who is 17 and the wrong side of 6'. Recruitment was essential if we don't want to be calling up 15 and 16 year olds for u23s matches and put coaches in goal for training.

It surprises me why Gould is still with us, plus was it one or two keepers released this summer ? I recall one called Rutter, or similar.

Maybe someone is hoping that he's a late developer.
When a 23 year old is going on loan to Barry Town however you do have to wonder if we're ruthless enough in certain areas.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Didn't start playing till he was 16 so a bit of catching up to do in coaching hours. But seemed obvious before he signed his last contract that he wouldn't be of the standard required, and we had better prospects on the books in Benda and Webb.
There's not been much coming through locally until now, Evan Watts in the new scholars has something about him and there's a lad the year behind as well. Generally our young goalkeeper have had an unfortunate habit of not growing. Nathan Shepperd is on Brentford's books, a few others are playing in the Welsh Prem (Alex Lang). Lewis Thomas is at Forest Green after leaving when we signed Benda ahead of him, didn't see a pathway.

Goalkeepers are something we've never really produced a lot of, which is a major reason why I was so disappointed to see Woodman brought back ahead of Benda for last season.

and it i why I get angry when people refer to Woodman a a great keeper for us. it insults good and local lads like Mike. Mike Hughes was our man,our player. Woodman wasnt and isnt.
Mike was small but brave in a way Woody could only dream
