Alex Crook saying he's not surprised, but must say having watched him after the drubbing on Saturday he didn't install a lot of confidence in himself, but was moaning about lack of investment Now club are saying he should run the club sustainably, so clearly no money to spend I'm guessing odds on going down have just got even smaller!!

You dont get a trophy for anything below 1st place in the Premier League either, Brighton & Palace have finished slightly above us, ultimately though they have done no better

| B'muff sack Parker on 14:06 - Aug 30 by SaintNick | The recent transfer activity has shown what it means to have owners who can put money into the club, something Gao was topped from doing due to issues beyond his control. Ralph has been hampered by the lack of investment and the new owners have freed up money to give him a professional coaching staff rather than just goalkeeeping & youth coaches promoted from the ranks. You are right the improvement is down to better coaching staff, all great managers had good assistants and coaching staff, yet you make no allowance for this. You are right there is money being spent, we have better coaches, so judge Ralph now that is hands aren't tied, give him credit for keeping the club in mid table when he had no backing available from the owners and no experienced coaching staff. As I said ask any Bournemouth fan or for that matter Forest , Fulham , Brentford, Palace, Brighton fan the question I posed and what do you think their answer would be, this is the Premier League 2022 |
Nice to see you're still ready with an excuse for him - nothing was ever Gao's fault. He was a useless owner. My impression is that the coaches are doing more than assisting. I think they are making the tactical decisions that Ralph has, over a long period of time, been incapable of making himself. I suspect these coached has been imposed on Ralph. But I'll credit Ralph with not spitting his dummy out, swallowing his pride and working with and deferring to the coaches were necessary. I'm looking forward to tonight's game.

No excuses for for Gao, he put money in initially then was unable to do so due to the issues China had with the west, he could have sold us several times but didn't just sell to the first bidder he waited to get the right owners. That is great that the coaches are doing more than assisting, they are interactive, giving their own viewpoints, where would Brian Clough have been without Peter Taylor etc. Why do you suspect that the coaches have been imposed on Ralph rather than he wanted them himself, you have stated that Gao was a poor owner and put no money in, how where we going to be able to pay more money for better coaches ? Sorry but you are just unwilling to give any leeway to Ralph whatsoever, on one hand he had no money so he couldnt buy players but on the other hand he was s***, it sort of contradicts itself. All I am saying is that he kept us in the Premier League with little resources, he deserves to see what he can do now he has some, is that unfair ???

Re Gao, you just keep repeating the 'his hands were tied' mantra. And I don't remember him injecting significant funds before his hands were tied. And I'm pretty sure he sold to whoever was going to best minimise the loss on his investment. It's more likely to have been Kat who insisted on a sale to someone decent. It is pure speculation on my part that these coaches have been imposed on Ralph but: 1. I think he is a stubborn man who will have found it hard to have tactical decisions made by others. 2. Some of those in charge are football people who will have known that Ralph had to stop making all the decisions. There's no contradiction. I don't really blame him for the qualify of the squad but two seasons running we lost 9-0 and two seasons running we went on absolutely disastrous losing steaks which he was incapable of halting. And I've watched the bizarre decisions he's made about tactics and substitutes and team selections. And I've seen how, consistently, when he's been up against a top class manager, he's been outthought. I am happy to see what he can do with these new players and with (apparently) clever coaches making the decisions that he isn't very good at. As I say, I'm looking forward to tonight's game. With Ralph in sole charge we were destroyed by Chelsea at home last year. I'm expecting an improvement on that. But I still think he's on thin ice, and I still don't think that he's (yet) proved himself an advert for sticking with a manager who loses 9-0 (twice).
