What option would you choose? 20:53 - Jan 22 with 1639 viewsA_Saint_in_Stoke

Our wonderful board in their wisdom .... Actually recognised that Saints may be in need of a stricker! as they would not have tabled an offer for Danny Ings ....  - this was at the exact same time as Sky sports were reporting that he had agreed personal terms with West Ham - 3 weeks too late !                                                                                                            SO.................Option 1   The only striker Left and available, in my opinion that would be a short term fit our needs would be West Ham's  ANTONIO  ... As moyes said of Danny Ings -- he is a proven premiership goalscorer .... He would cost us around £18 Million - and would he fit in?
OR

Option 2   Recall our own player Nathan Tella from Burnley and we would only have to cover his wages ?  IF you watched his excellent performance on Friday night ( Skys Man of the match ) He was very quick smoked the full back several times - and scored a brilliant individual goal .... and that on present form ONLY Ward Prouse has the skill to score such an individual goal .... GO ON say it's only the championship YES but aren't players allowed to gain confidence , improve and flourish ? And in my opinion looked , quick and streets ahead of any Sants existing forward.
I rest my case as a no brainer!

With all due respect....
West Ham fans can't wait to see the back of Antonio. They say his legs have gone and he's nowhere near the player he was. If he was still good, do you think they would sell him voluntarily?
And Tella.....
Adams and Armstrong were both prolific in the Championship yet are not considered good enough for the PL. Tella couldn't get in the team, so dropped to the Championship, and now looks good. Why do you think he's now good enough?

FWIW I think we should get a striker ASAP or we're down. But I don't think either of those are the answer.

Even if Antonio’s legs have gone, he’d be a better option than anything else we have.

Jones talks tosh when he says we have two perfectly adequate No. 9’s in “Che and Sekou” as he was quoted as saying.

Ings made it known that he wouldnt come back here last December. Im sure west ham will want to keep antonio and cant see any benefit him coming here. Tella im sure will be recalled if Saints dont get the two players they still want.

I said about 4 weeks ago I thought we ought to try and sign Weghorst; so what do I know?

My reasoning - Antonio will have lots to proove - so maybe a short turm fix for us - and agree with Patfrompoole's comments re-are present championchip forwards ... they have had enogh time to proove themselvse - perhaps they should be loaned out ? ... MY Sanits hero was Ricky L , who improoved from a Div 2 forwards - so there is every chance, in my opinion.

Antonio can’t get in the team of one of our relegation rivals. Yeah bring Tella back but he’s not the answer, he’s not an out and out striker and he’s scored 9 goals in the Championship
Are either of these going to keep us up?
Adam Armstrong and Che Adams both scored 20 plus goals in the Championship and they can’t hit a barn door in the PL

If he can score nine goals this season here then get him in pronto.

I’d recall him, we’ve nothing to lose but there’s a huge difference scoring 9 goals for a team at the top of the Championship to a team at the bottom of the Premiership
