When we will go down ? 13:56 - Apr 5 with 2617 views

In the pub after the West Ham game we were talking about when we would go down and would we rather go down away and Brighton or home to Liverpool.

We all said away at Brighton none of us wanted Liverpool to be the team to send us down.

Got me thinking what game do we think it will be:

May 8th Notts Forest away.
May 13th Fulham home.
May 20h Brighton away.
May 28th Liverpool home.

I think its going to be either by losing at home to Fulham home or losing away at Brighton

It'll most likely be when we lose (again) to a relegation rival so could well be Forest away.

Otherwise it'll be on a day that we're not actually playing when a team scrabbles into 17th place and becomes uncatchable by Saints.

Sooner the better in my opinion now.

I realised we were down, when we lost at home to Forest - which was 3 months ago. (Although to be fair, the signs were there, way before that !!)

That was the game that pretty much convinced me our fate was sealed.

Although we’ve flattered to deceive in a couple of games since then, we’ve not strung a run of games together to put points in the bank.

I just hope it’s not Fulham as I’ve got quite a few mates who support them and it was bad enough being sat in with them when we played them away on New Year’s Eve.

Yup Forest was the game i said we're done and i've not changed my mind since. Personally i think we'll mathematically be hanging on right to the Brighton game, as the league is incredibly tight.

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see a record low points total to stay up this season.

That was the clincher for me too. Not just the result but the abysmal manner of the performance.

11 points from a possible 33 since then and exits from both cups including a home defeat against Grimsby town.

In the next 5 games we face the top 3 in the league and 2 winnable home games.
