It will be absolutely soul-destroying if we see Alex McCarthy lining up in goal for us AGAIN next season.
The passing at the back got even sillier yesterday with two players lining up either side of McCarthy inside the penalty area to do a bit of silly sideways and backwards passing.
The first two Liverpool goals were embarrassing - the first one not even playing it out from the back but sideways, just strolling about, almost immediately give the ball away for an easy goal.The second goal was pathetic by McCarthy, half a second off the pace, straight under him. A few grannies I know would have saved that. Lets hope with Selles now gone that the sometimes suicidal sideways/back passing shite goes with him - and McCarthy. But I wouldn't bet on it.

Yesterday, we saw what works for Saints and what doesn't work. Fast direct solo runs and shooting on sight are the way forward; sideways passing at the back isn't.
For the first time, we saw our forwards given the freedom to run at goal rather than pass the ball away from it. The last time I can recall that happening was when Broja arrived. If only we'd seen more of that all season.
