Top 3 worst South American striker signings on 09:51 - Aug 27 with 663 views | SaintNick | You forgot Pablo Osvaldo Osvaldo was undoubtably our worst signing. In that Carrillo was never really given much of a chance so it wasn't his fault it didn't work out for him, Guly wasn't great but he did well and was a good servant as they say. Ramirez scored 6 goals in 52 games, so did make a contribution Others that should get a mention include Delgado's mate Cleber Chala,

I thought Osvaldo was Italian..... Though I now see he was born in Argentina. His wonder goal against Man City puts him way below Carillo in the "worst signing" stakes, and arguably behind Delgado as well. Might sneak into the top 3, I guess.....

Chala was a midfielder wasn't he? I think I actually saw him play at Derby, in the game when Paul Jones ridiculously threw one in his own net.

It depends on how Worst signing is defined, for me Carrillo was playing in a bad team and in the games he played was no worse than anyone around him, he wanted to play for us, Mark Hughes didn't want to play him and that ended his time at the club effectively. So this was a poor signing because of the club not the player. Osvaldo was a fiery character who basically mucked us around, so that was his fault not the clubs it could be said.

I would say reasonable rather than excellent in League one and as you say ok in the Championship. He was a bit of chalk or cheese player, but he played his part
