For me, the point isn't that RM needs to be more flexible. Rather his whole approach is doomed from the outset. We will never succeed in the PL even with a tweaked version of his style. [Post edited 10 Dec 13:26]

POTD I think for that, providing we've got someone inbthe pipeline that coils start working on getting us back up. He will also need to have ideas on the squad etc

Ever the optimist I hoped this season we'd survive but I remember feeling pretty uneasy listening to pretty season interview with our beloved leader and he kept emphasising the style of football wouldn't change.
Where pragmatism and survival is the name of the game for newly promoted teams, Martin in hindsight was either arrogant or deluded or both to think this style would keep you up.

To play out from the back in the Premiership you have to have very good players to do it.
Once you lose the ball most Premiership clubs have the quality players to punish you.
Never been a fan of passing out from the back(particularly the way we do) because when you lose the ball your opponent has the ball close to your goal.
What I don't get about Martin is he cannot see its not working,we have played 15 games and lost 12.
Communication is certainly not one of Martins(if any) strong points.
Whats the latest on Stewart and Tall Paul et etc?
He plays players out of position,team selection is erratic and his substitutions even more so.
The straw that broke the Camels back has been his criticism of fans wanting the ball forward rather than sideways.
