Good. We need to do better than Rohl.

Poll: Who is MOSTLY to blame for this joke season?

Agent talk. Why on earth would they want the manager of a team who are 13th in the Championship??? Only 2 teams have a worse defensive record than Wednesday.

How boring was that?

Absolute terrible game of football, Hull were woeful and we still couldn’t manage a killer pass in the final third

Really feels like it’s pointless coming to Hillsborough for the rest of the season, we’re being served up absolute dross at home and it’s carried on all year

Worst home record for 20 years now and 4 home losses in a row - who's accountable for that?

And yet I'd still take him over the scruffy useless git we've currently got.

Why is it every crap thing we want Leicester always takes it before us. We’re always in a group of awful clubs looking at awful options - yet we’re still the lowest of the bunch!

Sheffield Wednesday haven’t got a penny to rub together and Danny Rohl is doing ok with one arm tied behind his back .They have a league one squad doing ok in the championship .I’m Still waiting for you to tell us all what decent manager would want to come to Saints in our current situation. ?

Sheff Wed players aren’t even being paid ffs

I was contracted to work today, so couldn’t make the 180 mile 4 hour round trip. Fair play to those that did go in spite of all the rubbish happening because of DC.

Not sure how many supporters across the groups I have posted in, are aware of the sum of the wages of players that remain outstanding.

The professional first team playing squad are on £324,538 per week.
That’s £1,406,331 per month.
If that and April is not paid by the end of the this month DC will owe £2,812,662 in wages.

Although it has been stated he’s made partial payments to SOME players we don’t know how much.
But as that above sum only includes players, we can make the informed presumption there will be some unpaid coaching staff too. So the figure sits about right.

IF players are NOT paid in FULL before April PAYDAY for March wages, and APRIL is not paid on time either On APRIL PAYDAY, it means he’s missed two consecutive PAYDAYS.
That’s when players can issue notice with 15 day appeal to have it paid to them, and if it’s not paid by 15 days after they appeal they can walk away.

IF PAYDAY is 28th like with most companies, and the players raise their appeal on the next day, then that takes us to 13th May (29/4 day 1, 13/05 day 15).
Those players can then walk on 14/05.
2.8 million in unpaid wages IS enough money owed that Administration can be applied for by those owed money. If they’ve not been paid, then neither is the tax and NI of the employers liability! HMRC being the ones who will make the application.
IF there are interested buyers, this is when we will see them start to raise their heads above the parapet!

The closer it gets to that scenario, the more likely it is that DC will listen to direct offers to him, because otherwise the negotiations will be out of his hands and administrators will choose their preferred bidder.
Hopefully the EFL step in sooner rather than later. If they take hold before administration we will avoid a 12 point deduction.
That Is the one direction we’re heading to. Whether it’s as early as the end of season, or in a few seasons with DC stumping up cash last minute every time and destroying the club further, is anyone’s guess.
The sooner the better while we remain at a decent level. The lower we fall down the pyramid, the harder it is to get legitimately well funded backing

Dirk ought to look at more Sheff Weds posts than just ones that support his view.

I look at results and league positions, the same as I did for the other managers Sport Republic brought here. None of them were very good.

I've looked at the managers who've won the Championship in the last few years. They mostly came from foreign leagues, where they'd had some success, and had not managed, let alone failed, in the Championship before. If clubs like Burnley, Fulham and Leicester could do that, so could we. If you're going to recruit a manager who has Championship experience it should be one who's had experience of winning it, like Farke, not one who's been mediocre. Sport Republic should learn from that.

2024 Enzo Maresca, Leicester
2023 Vincent Kompany, Burnley
2022 Marco Silva, Fulham

Not sure what more Rohl could have done with the hand he has been dealt. Who would you go for that is proven and likely to be available?

Vasco Matos, Kjetil Knutsen or Fabio Grosso and at least a dozen others who'd be better than someone who's been proven already to be mediocre in the Championship.

There’s no guarantee any of those 3 would work, despite recent successes they have no experience in English football. They’d all be just as much of a gamble as each other. To call Rohl average is just not looking at the context. You clearly aren’t in the mood for any consideration of a view different to yours so we’ll agree to disagree and see where we are in 6 months time. We both want the best for the future I’m sure.

I'd rather we got Roald Dahl than this beaut.

He who is silent and bows his head dies every time he does so. He who speaks aloud and walks with his head held high dies only once. —Giovanni Falcone

It’s the same old story. It always makes me cringe when fans of other clubs have a view on one of your players as if they watch them week in week out. Dirk you have a problem with Rohl despite our new chap Spors highly rating him, he’s worked with him and knows him well.

Rohl is highly rated by most Wednesday fans (just read the links) who watch their team week in week out.

If you think he should be doing better when half his team aren’t being paid then I question your judgment.

How would you perform in your job if you weren’t being paid ?

It’s bad enough watching our lot “perform” when they are being paid.
