| New striker incoming??? 15:13 - Jan 29 with 1569 views | MattFinish | If you believe the rumours Arma and Archer could be on the move so with only injury prone Ross Stewart left it would suggest we might be getting a striker. The only thing worrying me is SR's clear inability to identify anyone who could hit the side of a barn with a banjo The list of shame so far reads: Sulemana – cost £22m, played 74 games, scored 4 goals Onuachu – cost £18m, played 40 games, scored 4 goals Mara - cost £11m, played 64 games, scored 8 goals Edozie - cost £10m, played 63 games, scored 6 goals Orsic - cost £8m, played 5 games, scored 0 goals Stewart - cost £10m, played 29 games, scored 4 goals Archer - cost £15m, played 35 games, scored 9 goals Brereton- Diaz - cost £7m, played 13 games, scored 0 goals Damion Downs - cost £7m, played 14 games, scored 0 goals I should add appearnces include sub appearances So in three and a half seasons we’ve bought 9 strikers who between them cost £108m, played 337 times and scored a total of 35 goals That’s one goal every 9.6 games and £3.086m per goal Staggering !!! | New striker incoming??? on 15:35 - Jan 29 with 1481 views | InTimeAddedOn | I would not trust SR to find a decent striker as far as I could bench press an elephant. The point is we need an EXTRA decent quality proven striker to supplement what we already have not to replace what we already have. If Arma goes and we are relying on SR to find a like-for-like standard replacement then we are totally 🤬ed. Totally… | | | |

| New striker incoming??? on 19:02 - Jan 29 with 1092 views | shotters | Absolutely no way we should even be considering selling Armstrong right now He's the only striker we have who has a track record of scoring goals in this league Probably more importantly I have no faith in the clowns in charge of recruitment being capable of replacing him. As the list above shows, their track record has been absolutely appalling | |

| New striker incoming??? on 19:34 - Jan 29 with 1047 views | MattFinish | I dunno, Armas contract expires June 2027. I could see us getting rid while we can still command a fee. If on the highly unlikely event we scrape promotion we know that Armstrong is nowhere near a PL player so it might be we get rid now | | | |

I agree If the figures ive seen are true then it would be a good deal As I said previously, I have no faith in the clubs ability to replace him adequately The cynic in me can visualize us selling AA, not managing to bring in a replacement and one of the club friendly journo's saying "The club tried really hard, but couldn't find a replacement at the right price. Tonda's really happy with the squad and his striker options"

What a pity we didn’t loan Dom Ballard to Leyton Orient instead of selling him to them for a pittance. Had we done so, as with Bree he could have been recalled having proved what a lot of us thought he was capable of, except the Gimberts running the Club of course…

It sounds like both Middlesbrough and Wrexham are willing to pay £8 mill for Armstrong. With time running out, one of them may go as high as £10 mill. I don't suppose we could get Dael Fry in part exchange? [Post edited 29 Jan 22:53]

It would be suicidal to sell Arma now. In the summer then yes. Get rid of Archer, Aribo and Edozie for now. Then get a good striker from League One. Best way forward me thinks…..
| New striker incoming??? on 12:45 - Jan 30 with 321 views | 1885_SFC | We should be begging Leeds to take Joel Piroe on loan for the rest of the season. Looks like he might be going to Rangers instead - providing Leeds get another striker in before the deadline. Piroe is superb at this level and his stats speak for themselves. | |

A lot of these loan deals are done by people who've got to know each other through years of networking or by people who played or worked together in the past. We don't have the contacts with Leeds or other top clubs that would take us to the top of the queue for their loanees. Even Ankersen's time at Brentford doesn't seem to have got us any loanees from them.
