1. Poor gate, not sure what more a team can do to attract fans to turn up
2. Poor atmosphere, sadly our fans need to be sitting next to the away fans to bounce off, other than that we should advertise the vacancy for the position of bell ringing, red & white wig wearing attention seeker in the North.
3. Poor game but they got the job done and that was all that matters.
4. Poor pouring, the Northam fanzone barstaff were clueless and seemed to have been put into the job without any training, they hadn't a clue about the drinks offers that the club run and they were disorganised and slow meaning big queues in the last hour before the game.
5. Poor stewarding, Why does a steward have to walk up and down the stairs in each stand roughly every 10 minutes, what are they looking for ? All they do is block the view of the game for those sat by them and surely with cctv, they can monitor the crowd far more efficiently than a disinterested student on £12.85 an hour |  |

I actually thought it was a good game.
Norwich were decent, and had some lively players going forward.
They were also very physical, and got away with shitloads from the ref. Who was indeed extremely poor. | |

Im generally surprised that I frequent the fanzone, but truth is it's a lot cheaper than the pubs in town, they have a bit of live music which is local bands who generally play guitar based music from the 80/90/00/10's , live games on the TV and an interview with a Saints legend.

1. Considering about 50% of the population have illegal firesticks , the casual supporting types are sitting at home and watching the game.
2. Norwich fans were small in number and quiet too.
3. I just felt tense the whole of the 2nd half ..Norwich had won 10 of their last 12 and looked decent. We looked disjointed.
4. Love Larin's turn of pace and strength. But his first touch is woeful. We need Stewaart back ASAP.

For a lot of modern football fans they aren't prepared to turn up for poor games, badly managed with poor service. The days of fans thatll turn up and simply be satisfied merely by the result seem to have gone. |  | | |

I agree to some degree with all of the views, yes fans can watch it more readily on tv so that affects attendances, but it doesn't if the team is doing well, Bournemouth's night game attendances are the same as their weekend ones, they have a few empty seats but not many.
Likewise most Premier League clubs, Fulham perhaps the club that doesn't fill it's stadium has virtually the same attendance every game.
Truth is it's about attitudes, club's and thei fans have to work at changing the attitude of their supporter base.

Palace was a morgue to go to up to 20 years ago when the Palace Ultras appeared and upped the ante.

As a fan base we need to follow those leads and talk up our club and our players, have an atmosphere were you are frowned on if you are just sitting there doing nothing and sneered at because you say I can't be arsed going tonight as if it's something to be proud of.
Clubs need to follow the German lead of cheap tickets etc.
We need to have a culture of being proud of our club and city rather than slagging it off all the time.
We need to distinguish between the club and the owners/board, they a temporary things, the club is constant, you can want the team to win and still want the manager and board out.

You can't use Bournemouth as an example re attendances for evening games vs Saturday games when they only have a 11k capacity for a team that apparently has European aspirations.
And where are their club ambitions where they are looking at expanding to only 20k (?) capacity
However last night's attendance was extremely poor against the in form team that Norwich are. I was also surprised that they didn't bring more down though I suppose a 4 hr drive on a school night is a bit much.

What excuse do Coventry and Middlesbrough have for their attendances last Wednesday night? It's the same everywhere. We are not some sort of 'special case' and neither are Pompey: they have swathes of empty seats for their midweek games, whatever official figures they declare. As for their support, I don't think there is any other fanbase in the country that turns against its team so readily as theirs.
Even if they're not winning at half-time, the Pompey boo boys get on their backs. At one time I collected links to every Pompey News match report that mentioned their fans booing. I lost count in the end, there were so many of them. [Post edited 19 Mar 17:02]

How will all these fans manage to get there and back late on a Saturday? I am one of those fans who thinks if you can be there for Arsenal you can be there for Norwich, which was just as big a game. When we got beat 5 1 by Spurs in an evening game, there was a sell out with some tickets costing £50 plus. In that game and last season, I could understand people not going but they did turn up!
