I thought Jander, Manning and Larin were all really good.
However, the rest largely struggled, I thought, and Ipswich had much of the game and the majority of the good chances.
Scienza and Fellows both offered very little. Matsuki's injury was telling, and we need him back.
I guess it was no surprise after Wembley and the very busy schedule over the last few weeks.
That said, the officials were shockingly bad last night.
However, Middlesboro are showing signs of coming into form at just the right time, and it's going to be two really tough games against them.

Fellows and Scienza are so frustrating
Leo has to stop looking for fouls he has his man beaten last night and instead of driving on and getting the ball across he went down to no avail
Fellows and his cutting across running into trouble is infuriating
Woods error that first goal was awful

I think we really need Jack Stephens back.
Wood played really well at Wembley, but he has been poor in each of our last two home games; you never feel secure with him in the team.
As for Scienza, he gives the ref (no matter how bad the ref is) an excuse to not give him the decision. I'm not sure he'll get much change out of Luke Ayling in the play-offs, and we may be better served with the pace of Edozie.
Shea Charles is also inconsistent. Brilliant one week, poor the next. Downes will be a welcome addition for the play-offs.
A lot of thinking for Eckert to do.
I would personally bin off Saturday's game (I'm not going as I see little point), and play the likes of Romeu, Jay Robinson, Jelert and Oyekunle.
Not particularly bothered about the second leg being away; our away form has been better than our home form of late. | |

It was a lively game for the neutral but a bit of a frustrating watch. After we went ahead it looked like we ran out of steam and we were lucky to hang on. Maybe it was too close to Saturday.
There was no lack of effort but we didn't quite have it.
Said it before but Scienza isn't as direct as he was. He cuts inside all the time looking for that shot, rarely trying to get to the line for a cross. But worse, he gets the ball on halfway and either gives it away with a careless pass, or falls over trying to buy a foul. He gave it away just like that for their first.
Hopefully the players just need a rest to prepare for one last push in the play offs. |  | | |

Agreed. I thought we looked tired and short of ideas. Both centre backs struggled all evening and we were out-muscled in midfield. Fair play for the way we fought back after going one down (mainly due to Larin and Azaz putting themselves about a bit) but it would have been hard on Ipswich if they had gone away empty-handed. At the end I was happy just to see the the unbeaten run stay intact.
Knowing how meticulous Tonda is I'm sure he is planning to rest players at the weekend and already has his starting eleven for the play-offs pencilled in. Hopefully PNE will be 'on the beach' anyway. | | | |

I appreciate im on my own on this, but im not a massive Shea Charles fan. I cant deny hes scored some great and vital goals, but his all round game hasnt been great since coming back from injury. Im not sure Tonda trusts him, hence Bragg and Jander starting the big games. Jander has been immenseness recenently.

Two very good but leggy Championship sides both going for the win , lots of misplaced passes from both teams.
Good atmosphere last night and the fans really got behind the team.
Agree that we've missed Stephens ...I think he would have increased the chances of seeing out the game last night , he tends to revel in that kind of pressure and generally steps up.
I think there's a over expectation on Scienza from the fans. He's trying to make things happen and takes gambles and it doesn't always pay off but I thought he was OK last night.
Charles is the most frustrating player for me...he cruises around the pitch and switches from a Rolls Royce to a Robin Reliant in almost every game he plays...he needs to step it up. | | | |

Knowing Tonda, he will go for the win at Preston which is the right thing to do. Boro have a tough game at Wrexham who need to win it themselves to guarantee 6th and a play-off place.
It's an interesting scenario. If Boro draw at Wrexham & we win our game - both of us will end on 80 points. Boro's current goal difference is +25 and ours +24. |  |

Weirdly, I think what makes him a great finisher (his calmness on the ball) means he’s not a great central midfielder. He’s so laidback that he slows play down and sometimes gets caught in possession because he wants too much time. I’d rather have a nutter like Flynn Downes running around. |  |

Yes, so if we win and they draw, we'll be at least level with them on GD.
Then I think it's on goals scored, where we're on 79 and they 70, so we should be OK.

Agreed Jander was our stand out player last night & has been in recent games.
While we're without Flynn Downes I'd prefer to see Cam Bragg alongside Jander.
They both did a good job against City.
For someone with such limited experience Cam Bragg looks really composed on the ball & has a good football brain.
Tonda obviously trusts him to play him at Wembley against the best team in the Country. | | | |

He's shown his ability in international games too. He's been captain of his country which doesn't happen by accident. If we get to the PL I think he will be able to play at that level.

I've seen Shea Charles play a few times for Northern Ireland, and he often looks inspired playing for them, but maybe that's because they are such a poor side and he feels he has to raise his game.
As with Sheff Wed last season.
He is clearly playing alongside much better players at Saints, and this may enable complacency, I guess.
I think there is a fair chance he will move on in the summer, due to only having 12 months left on his contract. | |

The one thing that Charles does much better than Bragg is give the ball away.

Jander easily our MOTM
Manning and Peretz were very good and others only good in places.
Our 2 CBs had absolute 'mares. Neither looked comfortable on the ball and often gave it away. THB couldn't win a header and got outmuscled by their 6 inches shorter striker all night. For their 1st goal,THB got outmuscled, Wood wasn't switched on, hesitated and let him in to score. Their 2nd was just as bad. Manning missed the cross, no idea what THB was doing and the diving little tw@t scored a good goal.
The free kick before Manning's goal should have been a red, as studs were up. Their number 31 could easily have gone when he took Azaz out on our break away.
Larin struggled against their CB who was trying to wear his shirt most of the game - including his volley - which should have been a pen. He took his goal really well, but I hope we didn't play him for too long as he had been limping for 10 mins before he scored and went off. Stewart's first 3 touches were passes to Ipswich !!
An entertaining game for the neutral but for us it was like Bristol City from last week. Needed a win and got a draw - but it would have been a defeat if not for a top drawer save at the end from Peretz.
Surprised that despite his best efforts, Diving Jack didn't win them a penalty. |  |
