Starmer is more than a drip; he was slow to act on Mandelson after sneaking him to the USA job, slow to act on grooming gangs and still allows questionable actions by Miliband and is now recruiting two 75 year old has-beens to deflect from his poor actions. His major weakness is being bullied by far left to extreme welfare spending.
The NHS has been sliding towards privatisation for years, state pensions without doubt will remain. Poverty will always remain as it defined by the calculation of those on lower than 60% of the median household income. | | | |

The truth is the tail is wagging the dog, no one has any experience of running anything, not just in this government but the one before.
In the old days you had career politicians on both sides of the house who knew how government & politics worked, now you have a load of chances.
David Cameron was working for the Conservative party the moment he graduated from University, he at least had an inkling about how politics worked, he just wasn't very good at it.. since then it's been a load of chancers in charge,
Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, our own Rishi Sunak, none were career MP's.
Keir Starmer is a lawyer and was head of the Crown Prosecution service hardly running a business.
A look at his challengers does not inspire confidence, all like Starmer will make big claims they can never pull off.
Andy Burnham - Perhaps the best candidate in terms of he has been in politics for over 30 years but he lost a couple of leadership campaigns and was shipped out to be mayor of Manchester, perhaps the best we could hope for if Starmer stands down.
Angela Rayner,- Not a career politician, She has little experience in running anything let alone the country, already shown that money has gone to her head and a lack of respect for the law as was shown in two seperate attempts to avoid taxation on her houses.
Wes Streeting, Another who made his way up through the unions no real experience of running anything.
When you look at the other two main parties, the Greens is no longer about the ozone layer of hugging trees, it has been taken over by those who saw it as a quick way to get into parliament rather than forming a new party.
Everyone knows about Nigel Farage.
Truth is that this country is split across so many parties now, it will never get an overall victory for any of them.

Starmer was elected, he should see out the term, and the people will give their verdict at the next election. These MP's that keep trying to go against their leader, bringing in the next one until they decide the next one isn't good enough, will just go round and round in circles. He's only been in for 2 years. He was the first Labour leader to be elected for 18 years.

Also, if people think that Andy Burnham is the answer then what on earth is the question. When there was last an election for leader of the Labour Party didn’t he finish fifth ?
Of more concern to me is what will the Government Bond Market Vigilantes do in the current circumstances. Our economy is and has been for many years, supported by borrowed money. I don't disagree with you. The Metro has certainly balanced things in London.
I dislike Corbyn as much as I dislike Farage. I don't like extremists. They always damage countries. My point was that the right-wing media wage a relentless campaign against any Labour leader and Starmer hasn't been able to stand up to it. Andy Burnham might, if he gets the chance. He's a bit more charismatic and media-savvy.
Being PM is a bit like being England football manager. You're under constant scrutiny and If you have any weakness, the media will find it and take you down. Of course, results count too and we haven't had positive results from any PM in this country for a very long time. [Post edited 12 May 0:55]
