| Sign Peretz and Larin, keep Bree and Stewart 07:02 - May 22 with 6638 views | PatfromPoole | Probably about as much chance of Kylie making lunch for me today. However the Club has to do something positive to lift us out of the doldrums. If we could somehow sign Peretz and Larin, or even loan them both for another season, and then hang on to Bree and Stewart, that would give us a real boost and half a chance of doing something next season. Regardless of who is running the show. | |

Peretz sadly I think will get better offers. So we had better make sure we have someone better than Baz or we can forget promotion.

Tonda will probably go. Many players who don't like the thought of another Will Still appointment will get the hell out of here. Will be possible relegation battle, if this all happens. As the players have already lost bonus payments, lost the chance to have their pay restored to Prem level I would think that amounts to a loss though no fault of their own (of course no g'tee Saints would have won) Peretz has already gone back ,Larin can go to any other team,Stewart is a free agent, Scienza, Charles,Bree will go others like THB,Welington, Jander will not want to stay if they can play at a higher level for more money . Rumour is some have already contacted the PFA to see where they stand

I am not replying to this post, it was just the last one on the thread at the time of writing but a lot of rumour and speculation is being badied about and little of it has much truth. With regard to who will stay and go, that will be based purely on if a player is wanted elsewhere and whether it will improve his position both in terms of League and financial. Peretz & Larin were only loan signings, they were both barely playing at their own clubs, would either get a Premier League club buy them, I doubt it, they will judge it on who wants them and money, put simply if we pay more then they will come back. That is the same for the players that might go, Harwood- Bellis- He could well move but then again there were plenty of rumours last summer and to be blunt none of them came to fruition, so he could well be here next season although gut feeling is that he could find a lower table Premier League club willing to fork out the £25 million transfer clause Leo Scienza - Perhaps a club on the continent, but will they pay more than his contract at St mary's, maybe a Premier League club, but bear in mind that there is a big difference between scoring in the Championship and the Premier as we know with Adam Armstrong, also his stock at the end of the season dropped a little with detractors saying he was a one trick pony. Caspar Jander is a good Championship player, but again is he Premier League, perhaps Bundesliga so we will see. Shea Charles is perhaps the one player that is Premier League class and I would not be surprised to see him go. After that how many others will get a better deal away from St Mary's, very few. They are all under contract, sueing the club for loss of earnings is not going to happen, in any sporting competion, you cannot sue someone who takes an action that costs us games or situations, be it scoring an own goal, giving away a penalty or something like this. A player is contracted to play football end of.and they would find it hard to sue given that there would have been no guarantee that we would have won the play off final anyway so it is not a quantifiable loss. Rumour is that i have contacted the PFA to check up on this, but it is only rumour. We are supporters of Southampton Football Club, what we should be more worried about is what Sport Republic do next, if I was Dragan Solak I would be asking myself whether it's worth bothering, the fans blame him for everything, and now this happens, why not just pull out, put the club up for saleand stop funding it, then lets see what happens. Now is the time to stay calm, not make rash claims based on no factual evidence and then remember what being a supporter is, it is about the club and not individuals. Managers come and go, players come and go the club is the constant. It is that simple, if someone else doesn't feel that way then that is their choice, but being a supporter of a football club is like being in a family, you have to take the rough with the smooth. Families close ranks when they have a crisis and support each other and that is what we need to do now. It is sad the way that some have gone from singing and dancing and being Southampton till they die etc, to now spitting feathers at everything to do with the club. It would be good for the supporters to stand up for what is supposed to be the Spirit of Southampton, that spirit is about taking the rough with the smooth and when we take the rough we are louder and prouder about the club. As I said at the start, none of what I have said is levelled at any individual on here for anything they have said, it is just an overall observation

Spitting feathers is okay Nick. There is nothing wrong with.being angry for a very stupid, naive and idiotic decision to cheat. I am sure all families "spit feathers" at each other. We are allowed to call the club, the manager or whoever, pathetic for sending someone on our website to do some spying. CCTV cameras everywhere, and we send a known face. Do you not think that was pathetic and utterly stupid? Say it and call the club out for it. And it's us fans who suffer, all because of that pathetic decision. In the same way that I would tell.my kids what I thought if they did something that was bad. People are allowed to be furious about what has happened. I wouldn't be proud of my kid if he cheated in his exams or something. Why should we be proud? It does not mean that I won't continue supporting the club as you're right we take the rough with the smooth, always fans, although we don't half suffer at times, with record low.points, 2 relegations in 3 years, thrown out of a play off final. Ofcourse people are angry and I think.you should fully understand why fans are furious. If you are going to cheat, at least do it properly, so us fans don't suffer. And at this club, there is always somethig going wrong at Saints isn't there? [Post edited 22 May 11:34]

Bang on as usual Southampton. Nick is of course entitled to his opinion, after all it’s his site and he can post whatever he wants. There is no doubt if you broke him in half you would find Southampton F C much like a stick of rock. On this occasion however I feel that he just doesn’t want to understand the severity of what’s occurred. As for his suggestion that we should now all be standing up for the “Spirt of Southampton” that’s a complete oxymoron given that last weeks events have completely destroyed that Spirt, something that I thought I would never have occasion to say at any time during my 60 years of being a fan. For me and for what it’s worth, there is only one way back now for the Southampton Football Club I thought I knew and loved. That’s for the Owners to put us on the market, take what little is offered and then disappear into the sunset. Anything else just won’t cut it. [Post edited 22 May 13:19]

Not to mention that Peretz will almost certainly return to his loan club, and McCarthy is out of contract, leaving the position vacant for the return of Bazunu. Wish I hadn’t mentioned it. I’m off for a lay down in a darkened room now.

I agree. As a Saints fan of over 50 years, I can’t remember so many who threw their toys out the pram. What’s the reality check? Are you saying just cheat and to hell with the consequences? That doesn’t seem to have served us well. I can’t believe some on here are saying we should keep people at the club who have spent most of their career in football cheating.

The reality is that Tonda and co have managed to so stupid in their naive ways to throw away a great chance at promotion and with a great team at that, no one is throwing their toys out of the pram. Most people are just being honest with the situation that we now find ourselves in which is the complete opposite of where it should have been and fans are well within their rights to be furious with what's happened, it would be very strange of you to not understand that. I'll always support the club whatever but I don't support having Eckhart being manager anymore. He should have thought about what he was doing a lot more carefully and the repercussions of what might happen but now that's long gone. Mangers come and go just like the players and there will be other managers that can come in and do just as good a job as Tonda. Besides this convo was about which players will be at the club next season and not about this.

Yes of course. Peretz and Leo said all along their dream was to play in the premier league and I think they are both capable as are Bellis and Charles . It’s hard to be positive at the moment, I’m still feeling embarrassed and completely pissed off but as saints fans we’ve seen a lot of set backs and we’ll get over it. With a few decent additions and keeping hold of the likes of Bree, Wellington, Wood, Bragg, Manning, Azaz ,Stewart ,Matsuki, Fellows ,Edoize and Larin we should be fine. Enjoy the summer.
