Only Lindegard looked anything like first choice material. Bellingham got good reviews, but actually didn't deliver very much of note.

The first team players who came on as subs certainly bolstered the B team at a time when they were looking quite mediocre. I guess that's only to be expected and it would probably be the same for any national team in the world. I agree with you Berber: about the only player who improved his chances of breaking into England's first team, but probably only as a sub, was Lingard. Bamford showed his limitations. I go to most of England's home games but don't bother when the opposition is as weak as Andorra, as such games are rarely better than Championship standard. Anyway, I'm looking forward to being at Wembley for the Hungary game. [Post edited 6 Sep 2021 14:20]

In the first half it was like team trial; play was disjointed as several England players tried to get noticed, Bellingham, Henderson and Lingard (apart from his goal) kept giving away the ball. Felt sympathy for Bamford who had to watch as others woefully shot into row Z when he was available. Some players certainly showed they are not good enough to force their way into the first team. I agree that in the second half the team looked the real deal. What instructions did Southgate give them in the first half? Don't try too hard?
