Everyone put in a shift today and the team spirit was excellent. JWP fantastic again. Romeu back to his best. Another excellent performance from Diallo. Forster a brick wall again but nothing he could do about their worldly. Lyanco fought for everything. Perraud’s final ball is poor but boy does he work his socks off. Took our chances well and played as a team. Got to be happy with that. Brentford look like they will struggle. Bring on Wolves!

Three in midfield and boy did we dominate! Great team performance, from everybody. JWP shone in a very competent midfield, we looked to break quickly when possible and Tella at right wingback didn't weaken us at all. Perraud is a workhorse and maybe is better at the back than around their box but the tackle that led to our third goal was superb as was his performance again. If only we could find the money to keep Broja?
Oh and the crowd was great and had some fun !!!!
Now we need to get something from Wolves.

Not a tired leg in sight after Saturday.

Pretty dominant performance. We have been building towards this.

Players of the match for me: Forster, Salisu, Diallo, JWP. However no poor performers tonight. Everyone put a shift in. Even Lyanco and Perraud, who are still getting up to speed with the EPL, put in an incredible amount of work.

4 well taken goals, suddenly we look quite imposing in the box.

Not a coincidence that we played well with JWP out of midfield, leaves Diallo room to roam and create and Romeu did his job well also because of it. I also advocated ages ago that we play with a back three and again today we had more success as a result. Why we don't play three at the back every week, ask Ralph. Broja MOM. Makes a change not to have to constantly change your nappies for three quarters of the match.

It was just like the good old days. Now, we've got Forster back in goal it's almost like 2016 again. He really makes a massive difference to the way the whole team, perform. Saints are becoming a very formidable team at St Mary's, with only one defeat all season.

There were some great performances from Ward-Prowse, Broja, Diallo etc etc. It was good to see Che Adams come on and score and it was really good to see Saints finish the second half of a game so strongly. There was almost a carnival atmosphere as everybody, except the Brentford fans who had to listen to "You're just a small town in Reading," as their team was totally outclassed, enjoyed a comfortable victory.

I get frustrated with referees but he did let the game flow and no complaints. I could moan about Toney should of been sent off but as a spectacle it enhanced the game. Saints did not get a booking today as my bet went down , it must be years since that happened ! I was screaming for Lyanco to be booked near end but ref was consistent so again no complaints.

Anyone still think we should get rid of Ralf ? Even though we apparently can now afford to sack him ?

Great result. A feel good, commanding and powerful performance. Diallo gave his best performance yet. Every other player put in a real shift and we were clinical up front. The players did the team proud. Up the Saints.

Ralph is the man for this club.

I thought we were sloppy at times - particularly in the first half but overall there were some immense performances (JWP, Broja) and most players had good performances - even Redmond did some good things, although he was clearly the poorest player on the night for Saints. I agree that Perraud and Lyanco are getting better. We are so much better with Frasier in goal despite his wayward distribution.

For me the best thing was the sense of optimism and enjoyment that has been missing for too long - both on and off the pitch. Two sterner tests to come but I feel that we are moving in the right direction.

Let's be honest that was unexpected. The players needed to impress the new owners/management team? And they certainly did. JWP, Romeu, Salisu, Lyanco, Bednarek, Diallo and Forster were all outstanding each deserving 8 points in the ratings (when has that been the case this year?). All the others played well although Redmond had one of his less assured games. Big Broja was terrific up front, racing onto to a direct 40 yard through ball from Romeu. And it was a fillip for both Adams and the fans when he came on and scored a very well taken fourth goal - sprinting 40 yards from a ball hammered forward from the centre of defence and lashing his leg out and the ball semi-looping in to the side of the advancing keeper from a well-directed shin-shot. Tella played well except for his lack of defensive marking - on the wrong side and not getting a challenge in against the Brentford goal scorer. (that was a strange and unfamiliar position for Tella - one of those bewildering Ralph tactical decisions). But Saints weren't to be denied and were on a rollercoaster to a well-deserved 4-1 victory.

Well played lads. Everyone put in a shift and we got a well deserved result.

Disappointing to read in some reports that Brentford had an off-day, but let's be honest and not give Saints a dis-service, we played them off the park and totally controlled the whole game apart from a few brief flurries in the first half and a crazy 5 minute spell towards the end of the 2nd half. It was great to see us passing it around and cruising at 4-1 up, so credit to all the players and for RH for making the changes when he did.

My only criticisms would be that we still switch off and ball watch a bit - like for the Brentford equaliser - and still lack that bit of organisation at the back - hence that frantic 5 mins at the end and the pinball in our box.

The players clearly grew in confidence as the game went on and the further in front we got. Both Diallo and Romeu were showing off all kinds of skills and turns in the middle of the park and if Perraud could learn to cross after beating his man, we would have a top notch left back.

Glad we shared the goals out, as it shows we are not reliant on a single player and that has been the case over the last few games. Enforced, or not, RH has used a lot of the squad in recent matches and the results have been superb, so no reason why they should not continue at Wolves on Saturday.

Finally we kicked a teams *ss :)

3 CBs, 2 wingbacks and 3 midfielders who all worked hard and supported each other well in a well organized shape - including 2 hard working strikers - worked fine on an evening where we scored from most of our chances (for a change).
JWP my MOTM from his RB position - and fine performances throughout the team besides perhaps Redmond who wasn't very succesful as link up player and striker , but at least he tried..

Ralph must be thrilled and relieved and proud as must be our new main owner, Dragan Solak , allegedly Serbias richest man , and his partners in business Rasmus Ankersen and Henrik Kraft , both Danes.
Great to see Diallo score our second goal, a difficult volley; unfortunately categorized as an own goal by Brentfords keeper; and great to watch Romeu assisting Broja for his 5.th PL goal - Broja running through from the middle of the pitch and into the box before finishing in the bottom corner to the keepers left. I had the feeling "I'm sure he'll score", when he accelerated towards goal and left Brentfords captain and CB Pontus Jansson for dead , and so he did; scored; again. Such a talented, young player. I hope we get to buy him from Chelsea. Jan B scored again with another delicate header from another delicate JWP corner kick, and Che scored a fine, controlled goal - putting the ball calmly over the keeper on the edge of the box - being one-on-one with him receiving the ball from Diallos long clearance from deep inside our own half.
