I'm just watching West Ham v Leicester and a pre-match interview with Rogers. He's left Maddison & Perez out of the squad altogether. They're both fit but are being kept for our semi final game next weekend

He's sounding twitchy/panicky already

Burnley 1 v Newcastle 0 at half time in the only game that affects us today.

Okay game so far. I've seen much worse. Looks like it's a straight shoot-out between Fulham & Newcastle as to who's going down at this rate.

Games affecting Saints this weekend...

Fulham v Leeds tonight (8.00 pm). A win for Fulham (quite possible) would mean they're only 4 points behind us.

Brighton v Newcastle tomorrow (8.00 pm). I think a draw would be the best outcome for us.

Whatever happens, it's getting a bit tight at the foot of the table. Not exactly time to wet the bed - but things could look dicey by late Saturday night.

Today's games...

I'm watching Leeds v Chelsea at the moment and despite it being 0-0, it's a cracking game so far. With Leeds being just 2 points above us, we could do with a Chelsea win... as much as I can't stand Chelsea.

Palace v West Brom later (A Baggies win would be ideal) followed by an Everton win over Burnley this afternoon would help us no end.

Finally tonight, a City win at Fulham would be the icing on the cake.

Diallo is back training and although he'll miss the Everton game - it looks like he'll be fit to line up against Sheffield United.

Likewise, KWP is only about a week away from playing again.

not really what you want to see out of your seat window! The Boeing 777, with 231 passengers and 10 crew on board, was able to return safely and land at Denver airport yesterday. No injuries were reported.

Police in the town of Broomfield posted pictures of what appears to be the front of an engine casing in the front garden of a home.

KWP, Romeu and Vestergaard are nearing fitness although Saturday might be a bit too soon. All three are back in full training.

On Bednarek, the FA said: “Jan Bednarek will be available for Southampton FC’s next fixture after an Independent Regulatory Commission upheld a claim of wrongful dismissal and removed his suspension.

“The defender was sent off for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity during a Premier League fixture against Manchester United FC on Tuesday [02/02/21].”

The FA has confirmed the red card given to Arsenal defender David Luiz against Wolves will stand 😵

Only a matter of time before there's another halt to the season.

'Significant' COVID outbreak revealed by Aston Villa

The West Midlands football club has just announced it has closed its Bodymoor Heath training ground after a "significant coronavirus outbreak".

A large number of first team players and staff returned positive tests after being routinely tested on Monday and immediately went into isolation, according to a spokesperson.

A second round of testing was then carried out and produced more positive results today.

Aston Villa are due to play Liverpool at home in the FA Cup tomorrow at 7:45pm.

this time it's brucellosis - a severe flu-like virus which can have chronic symptoms that never go away. This one was caused by a leak from a vaccine lab... much like coronavirus if you ask me. Dirty bastids...
