Charlie Austin Is Wrong ! Staying At Saints Is The Best Option For James Ward Prowse
at 00:41:52

I would, do you ever use logic? Prowse got banned for just 2 games, Villa and Watford, which yeah we won both, but he also played in every game since, where we’ve won 8, drawn 10 and last 9 (so a pretty average set), with him getting 7 goals and 4 assists over that period, as well as many great performances.
As I really don’t get of why you seem to hate Prowse soo much, but only an idiot would deny if just how important he’s been this season for us, and that the 2 games he missed over the last like 2/3 years, don’t really show too big of a difference, as we’ve been on both better and worse runs with him in that squad. As if it wasn’t for him, I’m pretty certain we’d be down with Everton and Burnley battling to avoid 18th place and relegation, but instead were in a pretty relaxed 13th place, quite far away from any relegation threat with only the OTT fans still being worried.

But still if you wanna just avoid the facts and keep to the hate you seem to have for Prowse, then go ahead, but there’s a reason why it’s basically just you that thinks that.

Southampton At Brighton The Verdict
at 23:37:18

I think Landsdownsaint has hit the nail on the head here. As we’re higher than what most people put us down to finish at this season, and for what he’s got has done pretty decent.

I mean he’s made up for every poor result with a great one, like how our results against the top 7 this season has been great, with only Chelsea doing the double on us (and most likely Liverpool) with us getting just as many/more points against them than they got against us, which you could argue is equalled by us not being able to do the double over any team (other than maybe Brentford) all season. But as much as there’s room for improvement and such, the fact is that Ralph always makes up for the poor results, which is the difference between us being mid table and in the relegation battle.

As like Landsdownsaint said, we ain’t gonna get any better managers, so why swap? As I see some on here going on about Howe, but if you’ve seen how he’s done at Newcastle, which has been decent in all fairness, he wasn’t the greatest for the first month or so, but when a certain transfer market popped up and they spent more than anyone else, and basically changed most of their strongest 11, they then started getting the results, which at the end of the day, was mainly down to money, which is exactly why we (along with many others) can’t ever challenge the top regularly anymore, whilst the teams with the major money, can, which even some of them (Everton, Villa and such) not even doing great. But unless this new owner actually puts a bit of money into the club, then we won’t be finishing much higher than where we’ll be finishing this season, no matter who’s in charge.

Chelsea Sanctions Put Armando Broja Transfer In Jeopardy

This whole sanctioning ends just before June starts, so unless they were to continue them on past that, then it’ll probably make minimal impact unless we were planning a pre transfer market deal.

Saints Draw Manchester City In The FA Cup Quarter Finals
at 22:45:13

Sorry but why soo many keep going on about this all being scripted/corrupt/rigged, but as maths shows, it was only ever a 2/7 (28.6%) chance that they (aka Man City, Liverpool or Chelsea) got each other, which is far from being the equivalent of even a “coincidence” or such.
Even then, yeah we’ve had a harder run this season, but last season was pretty easy for us, as other than the Arsenal game, all the other fixtures were ones that we were heading into confidently. So it’s only mathematically correct that we got one of the really hard teams around now.

Saints Draw Manchester City In The FA Cup Quarter Finals
at 22:14:28

Soo many are already seeing us as down and out after this draw, but I do think people have gotta realise that we were bound to get at least 1/2 of the “top 6” at some point in the cup run if we were to go all the way. And if we do beat them, well hopefully the semi can be a bit easier, but even then, I wouldn’t be too surprised to see one of Liverpool/Chelsea slip up, so we should get at least 1 more easier fixtures if we were to go the whole way.

And even then, we’ve played Man City twice already this season and gotten a deserved draw, and a draw which arguably should’ve been a win with that blatant penalty missed out. But hopefully we can catch them off guard, as you don’t go undefeated against Man City in a season with no tactics/great performances, and if we can produce another, then why can’t we beat them? As we’re currently in great form, and if we can continue it for the Villa, Newcastle and Watford game, then why can’t we beat Man City?

Hasenhuttl Confirms He Is Likely To Make Changes For West Ham Game
at 18:56:46

I’d say it all depends on who’s coming in and who’s getting left out. As West Ham are unlikely to play their strongest side as they only played on Sunday and wanna try and make the Champions league, or at least the Europa league, so we won’t be the only ones doing it.

But we do now have the squad depth to do so, and if he plays the likes of Willy (instead of Forster), Parraud (instead of Livermento or KWP), and even Redmond and Stephens (for the likes of Elynousie and Bednerak), as they’ve all shown recently that they can be decent, as Willy was great against Coventry, Parrauds been great for quite a few games, and Stephens against manny was pretty solid, and Redmonds actually got a pretty decent record in the FA Cup. So as long we’re swapping the poorer regular starters, for our best bench ones (and not playing Djenepo, Armstrong, Smallbone etc) then I’d be pretty happy with whatever squad he comes out with.

Saints Have Six Players Out Of Contract In Summer ! Will Any Stay !
at 13:16:51

I’d say that we should keep Stephens as he’s a decent bench option and we don’t have to worry too much about him going anywhere else, but I’d also keep one of McCarthy or Forster and get rid of the other (I’d certainly prefer McCarthy to stay (especially if Forster won’t take a pay cut), but don’t care that much if we get a new number 1 keeper in the summer), but Long and Caballero are interesting as I’d of thought that maybe giving Caballero a coaching foal or such may be decent for the club, and with Long, well maybe giving him a small extension on his contract as he can still be decent at times (so only like 1/2 years more). But Lewis should just be dropped as we’ve seen nothing whatsoever from him, which suggests that he’s not all that he’s meant to be.
So really at least half of these 6 I would’ve thought won’t be playing for us anymore, whether any become coaches or not will be inserting to see.

Southampton Right To Hold Steady In The January Transfer Window
at 10:19:06

Little annoyed we didn’t sign anyone whatsoever for the first team, but at the same time, it was only really Broja (as in on a permanent deal) and a new keeper, that I thought we really needed to get. But even then, we’re not going down this season and we’re not getting into Europe or such, so other than maybe doing well in the FA cup, we don’t necessarily need the players for the team anyway.
But I’ll certainly be interested to see who’s contracts gets renewed and how the summer transfer market goes, especially with Sports Republic now in charge.

Southampton Face Competition From West Ham For Armando Broja
at 17:27:43

I’m certainly more worried about Chelsea not wanting to sell Broja and not keep him for themselves, rather than West Ham beating us to him. As West Ham will at best get that European Cup of Nations and that’s certainly not what kids/young players, dream about winning/participating in throughout their lives! And Broja has no connection to them anyway, whilst we’ve given him his chance to shine in the prem, so as long as we do offer Chelsea what they want and give Broja the salary he wants, then I really can’t see him going to West Ham over us.

Mind The Gap ! Saints V City Highlights The Huge Difference Between Premier League Have And Have Not
at 11:42:04

It’s the gaps like this that are the main reason I didn’t mind having that stupid super league or such. As every season now, you can basically predict where at least half or so of the teams will roughly finish, as every two years basically all of Borwich, Fulham and West Brom all get promoted and all get relegated, as well as basically every single season (other then when Leicester won the league and we came 6th) the top 7 have all of Man City, Man U, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool in it.
The only variation we get whatsoever is who finishes where in the top 7/bottom 3 out of those teams as well as that middle section of like 18th to 8th. As in the past you always had favourites to go down/win the league, but it was never as cemented as it is today.

This is just simply down to money though, all those sad ass glory hunters and the fact that loyalty means very little to any players whatsoever. As most of the teams outside the “top 6” have all had some amazing players, but have almost always lost them to one of those “top 6” teams due to them offering the player a ridiculous wage and making them want to leave as loyalty means bugger all to them!
As at the end of the day, until something is done about the money/gap issue in football then none of this will be changing as it looks like Newcastle will be the next to enter that “top 6” but unless everyone gets a billionaire owner, then it’s just gonna be one shit ride for the rest of us!

Southampton At Wolverhampton Wanderers The Verdict
at 12:08:14

Ok I’m really confused as to why soo many are complaining about VAR now? As their penalty, was a penalty all day long and was down to a stupid tackle for Bednerak not really getting anything on the ball, and a poor touch from Tella when giving it away. As it’s a penalty, so why soo many are using that as an excuse is just stupid.
As the only other debatable VAR decision was the late kick on Romeu which is one of those decisions where if it’s given for you then great, but if it’s given against you then your outraged, and yeah they’re sometimes given, but they’re also sometimes not and today it wasn’t given, which yeah is frustrating but if it was vice versa I’d be peed off if it was given against us.

We simply lost as there were some really poor performances out there and very few decent once’s, very little to do with Ralph or his tactics whatsoever. But even then we were playing against a really decent inform wolves team that were favourites to win, and in the end did, as until we sort out certain positions with new signings (aka a new goalie) and some of our more important players come back from injury, then we’re not gonna be challenging for Europe like they are.

Southampton Linked With Dundee United Keeper
at 12:02:56

Definitely need a new number one, although I was hoping that we’d be going for that young English, West Brom keeper as he looked really promising and looked already decent enough, but still if this keepers any good, then he’ll do what our current ones can’t do and come out, actually distribute the ball to our own players, not make some real bad mess ups etc, still it’ll certainly be interesting to see if what happens

Not too many are that big of a deal as most wouldn’t have played anyway, other than maybe KWP (as he’s suspended for Brentford) and Small. I just hope they can be back in time for the Brentford game though, as Adams had Covid just before the Spurs game so should be back, but the others we’ll have to wait and see on.

Ralph Hasenhuttl Welcomes New Owners To St Mary's

Main thing I was happy to hear is that we’ll be going for more of the Livermento’s and Broja’s as well as not having to sell players to buy them. As if that is the case, and we can keep getting them and signing them permanently, then we sure can get back up that table once again and actually have a shot in winning a thing or two.
