Southampton At Norwich City The Verdict

Yeah well I’m today’s football saintsmark1976, you need money to win just about anything, so I think we may have to wait a while before that happens, but you never know and I sure do hope that I’m wrong (as we’ve waited long enough since we last won anything anyway)

Southampton At Norwich City The Verdict

Yeah fair enough Saintsmark1976 I shouldn’t call people idiots for stating their points of view, but at the same time it’s not like no one says that on here as many times before have I been called one (whether that’s because I’ve defended a player/manager or said something that someone’s disagreed with) as well as me seeing others be called that and much more.
But sorry but I do find it very mind baffling that fans can call for a manger ahead after ending a decent run with one poor defeat. As yeah if we go on a poor run now and get barely any points over Christmas and enter the relegation zone then fair enough as that’s when it’s certainly up for debate, but right now the club is exactly where you’d expect us to be (if not a little higher for what we get investment wise) and we certainly won’t be finishing much higher until we get some investment/ambition in the club

Southampton At Norwich City The Verdict

Well PaleRider you knew exactly what I meant when I said we went too for the first time ever, so you bringing up the Johnsons paint trophy or such for a major one sure would seem like the sort of thing you’d do.
But yeah the two 9-0 defeats were certainly bad results (although the Man U one should’ve been like a 5-1 defeat, but us having a ridiculous injury crisis (hence why we had two goalies on the bench) combined with the worst officiating display I’ve ever seen saints have is what caused it to end at 9-0 (although I’m sure you’ll find a way to disagree/use my own terms against me for that)), although I certainly don’t think that the Norwich or Newcastle games rate anywhere near them, but the fact is that not only did he make up for them with some of the games he pulled off (like the home wins against the champions of England (Man City and Liverpool), an FA cup semi final as well as sending us top of the prime for the first time ever and the entertainment he’s brought us, as ever since Koeman left we’ve not had a better manager than Ralph and we certainly won’t be getting a better one ether with the state that this club is in. And he certainly should’ve be sacked after one poor result that wasn’t record breaking or such, which has ended a decent run that we were on

Southampton At Norwich City The Verdict
at 17:19:03

Yeah many other international players did play at the weekend, but then again not many of them played all the games for their country as well as their games being as important. As I can’t think of any English players that played the full games for both of our ones other than Maguire, but he got sent off so it’s not like he was great for his club, and many other players aren’t Che Adams so could quite easily have a better fitness level than he’s got. And yeah I’d agree that Tino did look a bit knackered, but we only get 3 subs and Ralph may have simply just thought that Adams needed a rest more/Tino was too important to take off.
And yeah many people (including myself) have been watching saints for a long time, but the way some people act, you’d expect us to have the history of Newcastle/Villa/Man U etc or the investment of the likes of Chelsea/Man City etc as we’ve never been up there for that long hence why we’ve only won one major trophy (although seeing how you knew exactly what I meant by top for the first time, I’m sure you’ll just mention the Johnsons paint trophy or some friendly competition we won over one summer) so is loosing a game to a bottom of the league team isn’t some stand out embarrassing result that should get a manager sacked, as unlike those teams with the investment/the historical teams back in their prime, we don’t win every week and never have.
And you say that most posters on here don’t think Ralph should go, well that’s not what I can see as there’s quite a few calling for his head, and yeah they are certainly a minority, but there is still a few, and no having an opinion over what was the correct decision to bring on so and so and what tactics we used etc isn’t being an idiot, but calling for a mangers head after ending a decent spell with 1 poor performance sure is

Southampton At Norwich City The Verdict
at 14:56:26

Well you say that PaleRider but I’ve seen loads of people on here calling for Ralph to be sacked/saying we’re heading for the championship, not just on this website but certain other social media groups as well, and yeah they are in a minority but that minority is still much larger than what it should be. But yes there are many who are frustrated with some of his decisions m, but in the end they all make sense if you put yourself in his/the players position (other than bringing on Walcott) as we wanted another goal so Broja was brought on (with Elynousie coming off as he wasn’t the greatest), taking off Adams as he was tired (although why Walcott came on I can’t answer hence why I do think he deserves some criticism there) and taking off Romeu for Lyanco which was probably to allow the fullbacks KWP and Livermento to push up a bit more as they now had 3 central regents covering them.
And actually I was at the game, and I was confused as to why he brought Walcott on, but not to why he took Adams off, as you just gotta use common sense to realise that when a players already played 3 games within a week and this is like his 4th throughout like 8/9 days, then they’re obviously gonna be knackered and aren’t necessarily going to be able to play the whole game.
And sorry but the last time we were anywhere near the top was before money got involved in the sport, and that’s exactly why every team that’s won the PL (other than Leicester) has had ridiculous amounts of money invested into them before they win their title, hence why I’m just being realistic not expecting us to be anywhere near the top, with the lack of investment we have. So please explain what’s soo pathetic about being realistic/using common sense when writing my comments?

Southampton At Norwich City The Verdict

And sorry but for everyone going on about his subs and McCarthy, well Adams came off probably because he was knackered after playing like 260 minutes of football for Scotland over the week, so was struggling with his fitness to play the whole 90 minutes, and bringing on Lyanco and Broja were both perfectly understandable seeing that he’s brought on a decent striker to try and get us a second goal but has also made sure that we don’t concede a last minute goal to loose (which in the end even with his subs we still did!) and it’s not like we had the usual lot of Armstrong or Djenpo on the bench to sub on.

The goalie issue is simple as we need a new one in January but until then I’d still prefer McCarthy as year he has been poor recently and I certainly wouldn’t be the most bothered in the world if he was to be dropped, but at the end of the day Forster isn’t much better, hence why he was dropped years back and was only ever that good when he had one of the best defences in the league in front of him! Hence why when they all departed (Fonte, Van Dijk and an inform Cedric and Bertrand (as well as us keeping the ball in our opponents half with our great attack)) he fell to pieces and was dropped and loaned out to the likes of Celtic or such, yet he still requests ridiculous wages hence why no ones ever come to buy him. But still as I said before we just need a new goalie full stop in January.

Southampton At Norwich City The Verdict
at 14:26:37

Wow I mean how many armchair fans, well actually I say that, but they’re not fans! Does this Forum have!?

So we go and get 10 points from 4 games, send the champions of Europe to penalties for a game we should’ve won, as well as getting draws against Man City, Man U and a really inform West Ham, whilst only having two poor defeats (and even then Wolves are now like 6th!?) and mange to create many chances in many of the games but loose because we don’t take them and conceded two poor goals due the goalkeeping errors (which should be sorted in January but yet again will be down to whether we get the money/ambition to make the transfer!) which cost us the game (as I’m not sure if you plastic fans realise but the manger isn’t allowed to kick the ball into the net or save shots from the opponents from going into their own net!).

Yet people are calling for a manger to be sacked even though he’s got the lowest investment of anyone in the prem and has managed to keep us in the prem for many seasons (which is an achievement in itself!) as well as getting us to an FA Cup semi final and top of the league for the first time ever! And yet these idiots still call for his head just because we’ve had one really poor result (which even then was always on people’s mind with them getting a new manger!) yet even if we were to sack Ralph I doubt many world class managers would wanna join us anyway!?…
Its just pathetic

As bringing on Walcott was the only thing he can and should be criticised for yesterday, and even then it’s not like we had Armstrong or Djenpo on the bench as it’s only Tella who was left.

Alex McCarthy On The Verge Of A New 3 Year Contract For Saints
at 18:45:36

Certainly deserves it with hoe he’s been this season, only time he’s messed up to my memory was against Burnley for their second, and even then it was a decent goal and wasn’t just his fault. Still whether he stays as our Number 1 after January or not, and whether he knows about that before he renews his contract or not, certainly will be interesting.

Ralph Hasenhuttl On Aston Villa And Norwich Radar But Why Would He Go To Either !
at 23:40:38

Why are you being such a downer/plastic fan wrathoftazz? I mean all you’ve done over the last month or so is complain non stop, about a manger who’s managed to get us nearer to Europe than relegation, with minimal resources, has only had one abysmal result this season, yet has had many great results, and has managed to get us from one of the worst defences in the league to one of the best! I mean what does it take to shut up plastic fans like you and all your negativity? As yeah we may not have had the greatest of years, but for the investment we’ve gotten, any9ne who’s realistic would be pretty happy with how well this season has started, yet somehow you still complain!?…

Broja Out For Saints Trip To Watford
at 18:17:14

Well that’s really annoying! Still it’ll probably be Armstrong who starts then, hopefully though he can get going, and get another goal like against Everton, a we’re not gonna get much from midfield, but then again I think just one goal could be enough against Watford, especially with their Dennis suspended.
And yeah TimSaint, I’m sure they’ll all be decent people and make sure that they apologise as there comments about Ralph being an idiot for taking him off, even though it was blatantly obvious that he was injured if they actually watched the game!

Two Big Decisions For Ralph Hasenhuttl Ahead Of The Trip To Watford
at 12:13:20

As much as do definitely think McCarthy is a better keeper, Forster was great yesterday. But still, I’d play McCarthy for Watford but if he doesn’t perform well again, then I don’t see why Forster shouldn’t play against Villa.
With Lyanco though, he was amazing yesterday, and I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing him playing on Saturday, but then again I’d understand if he kept with Bednerak, but like with the Forster scenario, if Bednerak doesn’t perform against Villa then I’d certainly expect to see Lyanco against Villa.
So personally I don’t care which of them he picks for Saturday (other than Walcott who was the only sub Ralph messed up with yesterday, and shouldn't be anywhere near the team again for quite some time) as they’ve all got a right to play, but if some were to not perform then he should change things up.
Although I also though Walker-Peters was great yet again yesterday, and playing Livermento as the left back and him on the right was actually pretty decent, so maybe he should try that.

Southampton At Chelsea The Carabao Cup Verdict
at 23:01:47

I do think we put out a great display today, but unfortunately just didn’t take our chances! As much as I do like Ralph, why did he bring on Walcott as he did bugger all and missed his penalty, but other than that I thought he was ok, as Long (surprisingly enough) was actually really decent.

Could Yan Valery Be Converted To A Centre Back
at 12:16:56

Well I’d like to see that tonight, as this game will be one where the likes of KWP, Valery, that new defender we got, a few youth players etc, can show us of why they should be, at the very least, on the bench for the big games. As Chelsea aren’t going to be playing all their big players, so it should be a close game, and will help to end the debate/decide over who should be playing up front with Broja, instead of Walcott, and maybe in defence instead of Bednerak for Watford.
But as much as loads of people are already complaining about this idea, I’m sure that if it works out well, then we’ll certainly have more competition for the bench/starting 11

Southampton V Burnley The Verdict
at 11:32:44

This was simply one of those games where we didn’t take our chances, and made a simple mistake or two which cost us the game! As Livermento wasn’t on his man for Burnley’s first goal, and that cost us (but he certainly made up for it with his performance and goal) and we missed many opportunities like when Redmomd somehow missed an open goal!
Still personally I see only Walcott as having a dreadful game, whilst only Livermento and Broja having great games, as everyone else had poor and decent periods throughout that 90 minutes.
Ralph though I honestly couldn’t see what else he could do, as his starting 11 was what most people expected as Armstrong wasn’t fit enough to play the whole game yet, so was never gonna start, and that’s the same for Tella as he’s just a bit young, although then again he has started before (so maybe that’s up for debate, but it’s certainly not as black and white as people make out). And subs wise, well he brought on Armstrong exactly when we expected and Broja only came off as he had a knock (which was pretty clear to see if you were at the game). But anyone calling for Ralph to get sacked is just being ridiculous and pathetic, as for what he’s gotten us, from having the lowest net spend in the league, is enough in itself for him to stay for quite a while longer.

Ralph Hasenhuttl Charged By FA Over Mike Dean Comments
at 18:20:43

Sorry but even as a referee myself, how the hell has he been charged as he’s not said anything that’s actually offensive or such, and does have a fair point, but ether way he’s said nothing in which would get you booked/sent off so how he’s getting fined for it is just baffling

Southampton Ownership Structure Could Change Says Saints CEO
at 00:39:51

I do agree with you Nick, but with GAO and investment, yes investment doesn’t guarantee success, or us getting anywhere, but at the same time these days to even have a chance of getting anywhere you need investment. And with Gao, yeah he’s not sold us off to some really bad owners, but it’s not like he goes to all the games and is consistently helping out at saints charity fundraisers etc, as he’s just someone that could certainly be better, but still could be worse

Southampton V Wolverhampton Wanderers The Verdict
at 16:15:56

All the people calling for Ralph to go are just soo pathetic and plastic! I mean for starters looking at our first 6 games we’ve had, most realistic saints fans would’ve expected like 5 points (4 against Newcastle and Wolves with a win and the other as a draw, and another point off of West Ham or Everton) which is only 1 point more than what we’ve got so far, which is certainly not something you sack a manager over!

Then also you’ve gotta look at the players at his disposal as our defence has been really decent this season, it’s just our strike force hasn’t been getting anything even though they’ve been getting the chances. This isn’t down to Ralph as he gets no investment whatsoever so can’t get decent PL quality strikers, like the likes of Villa, West game, Leicester etc can during the winter transfer market.
I mean if we don’t have a win by October, then yeah maybe you can start to look at Ralph, as 3 of the 4 league games we should arguably win, but even then when you get bugger all investment off of Gao, there’s not a lot that managers can do.

Plenty Of Tickets Available For Visit Of Wolves To St Mary's
at 12:59:38

I personally see this Wolves game as deciding how good/bad out start to the season has been, as points wise, for who we’ve faced I’d of taken 4/5 points before the season started for who we had (as we should win against Newcastle and maybe get a draw against Everton/West ham), but the fact we haven’t won a game isn’t too great, but is basically levelled out by the fact that we’ve only lost 1, and seeing that we’ve drawn against Man U and Man City, as well as an inform West Ham team, that’s no too bad of a start and has helped us keep a decent goal difference.
As if we win on Sunday, then we’ll of had a greet start and really taken our points when we should have, if we draw it’ll be a bit of a hit and miss as like I said before we still haven’t won, but then again we’ve only lost once, but if we loose then our start hasn’t been too great with only 4 points from the first 6 with no wins (but I won’t be calling for Ralph’s head or anything if we were to loose on Sunday).
But in reality we should win on Sunday as we’re doing better than Wolves and have a better squad this season, than them.

B Team Omissions Suggests First Team Promotion For Summer Signings

Both of them looked promising from what I saw/heard about them when they first signed and I’m really looking forward to seeing them play. I think highfield49 hit the nail on the head for what he’s written above as Ralph has done really well for what he can do as a manager so far this season and we’ve actually had a decent enough start for who we’ve played, and after we play Chelsea it’ll be a decent run of games for us to start racking the points up on.
