Funny thread. As stated before stood side by side with Soton lads on a proper front line and would do again. Goldsmith Avenue was not a nice place that night and the so called escort had a larger contingent of hooded and scarved idjuts with a smaller group of normal fans. Good job police were there IMO. Perhaps a few coaches should of been provided to embark the idjuts with a quick trip up to Brize Norton to board a hercy bird out to an area they can fight for real that's of course they are up for it. On the football club front you may have been top flight for 50 years ish but what apart from 76 have have you really achieved which outshines Pompey? I think once you take the arrogance heads off you want to play us regularly as it has to beat Bornmuff and Brayton for that adrenalin rush..... |

Like most away fans nowadays for the big games they have the security of police escorts. Like I have said earlier and being honest and trying to be unbiased. The 200-300 in that escort about 100 were up for it. If Scotty had beamed the police up on Goldsmith Ave those lads would have been completely outnumbered and would have been really hurt. My cousins boy was an away fan there and I made sure he knew what was happening so he could avoid the trouble. Having served alongside lads from Soton on the front line, and would do again I hasten to add, we have nothing but mutual respect and for one another and the football is only banter. Perhaps some of those angry people they should take a trip to a front line for a few months and understand what real shit is! |

A fair question to you. Anyone on this thread actually there. I walked up Goldsmith Avenue and it was absolutely mobbed. Video footage shows it too. There was a group of about 200 Saints fans in an escort out numbered by police. Think the train after probably had more but was late. I am pretty thankful that the escort was well protected albeit there was about 60 or so looking for trouble in there but the rest innocent people. There were hundreds trying to get at that group and if they hadn't been so well protected it would have been carnage. No need for it really and would have been so much easier and safer by bubble. Cost us taxpayers a lot of money as half the Kent Police force were here |

How would Eastleigh be a derby it's full of Pompey fans. You were singing there's only one South Coast derby to Bournemouth on Friday night. Double standards. At least my family member from the dark side got home OK last night. It was not pleasant at all on Goldsmith Avenue.. Not to worry anyhow as we will all be fighting on the same side as one band of brothers when the Brexit civil war comes. |

There is no doubt you were the better side last night. First 20 mins though we were good and missed opportunities which cost us. You looked very nervous at the start. Don't thenk anyone here thought we would win but wanted a chance too. When it comes to history we do have more as have won more leagues and trophies. We are lucky to still be in existence so we have to take last night on the chin. One can only imagine how good you would really be if you kept hold of some of the players you have let go over the last few years. On a plus side having been miserable last night I woke afresh this morning in the knowledge that I will never be Scummer so there is a bonus..... |
