Burslem Burning And Burton
Burslem Burning And Burton
Sunday, 2nd Jan 2011 18:24 by portvale4ever

Our season is rapidly disintergrating after the loss of Micky Adams and two shamefully wretched displays away from home. Emotions are running high, and, in our first home game for well over a month, anger towards our arrogant and repugnant Board threatens to burn, and burn brightly. V2001 have an awful lot to answer for, and Fans have simply had enough. It all bodes for a fascinating spectacle at Vale Park tomorrow...

There's also going to be a game of football as well. Burton Albion will be joining the party, and although they are currently way down the table in 15th, with a poor away record - eight defeats already on their travels, they must fancy themselves to come away from the turmoil and bedlam of Vale Park with three points.

Our change of fortunes on the pitch has been astonishing. We spent the first half of the season as an almost unstoppable force, imposing ourselves over our opponents, dictating the game and enforcing submission. We did it with some style too. We were not an ugly team to watch.

It all seems like a distant memory at the moment. Our creativity has run barren, we have hit a goal drought, and suddenly our rock solid defence has descended into inane comedy. It is truly baffling. Steady leadership cannot come quick enough.

The players need to stand up and be counted tomorrow. Show the Fans that they care about Port Vale, and have some pride in wearing the shirt. I fancy us to win, purely because I can't think any other way. Nothing thats happened over the past week supports my optimism...

I thik everybodies getting a bit of a 'panic on' at the moment! A couple of wins, bit of stability and we'll be back on course. Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of V2001 and am behind Mo Chaudry all the way, but on the pitch I reckon it's just a 'blip', albeit a huge 'blip'!
