Carson Hoping Northern Ireland Bounce Back Against Wales Thursday, 26th May 2011 09:25 by TWTD.co.uk Midfielder Josh Carson says he hopes his Northern Ireland side will bounce back from their 5-0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland when they take on Wales in their final Carling Nations Cup match in Dublin on Friday (Sky Sports One/HD1 7.30pm). The 17-year-old made his full international debut in Tuesday’s thrashing. Carson says the squad was very down after Tuesday’s loss: “The atmosphere in the dressing room after the match was very down, but hopefully we’ll make things right against Wales. “We’ll put in a good performance against Wales because we’ve nothing to lose and we’ll be ready to battle against them.” The midfielder was pleased with his own performance: “As far as my international debut is concerned, I'm proud to be there and be part of it. It’s not the result I would have wanted though. “I was trying to get forward as much as possible. I was told to pull wide, try to get the ball and get at them. "I thought I played well enough in my first 70 minutes of international football. I don’t think that we deserved a 5-0 drubbing, but that’s football.” Carson is expected to make his second full international start against the Welsh.
