Nigel Adkins takes a leaf out of the Ugly Inside's book when he states the fact that home clashes are a must win.

The Saints manager claims in the Daily Echo that he has taken positives from the defeat at nfield on Saturday, although to be quite frank, those that were at the game wouldfind it quite hard to find anything positive in a team performance that was lacklustre in all departments and lacked leadership at any level either within the team itself or from the bench.

Adkins is right though when he says that Saturday's clash with Reading is a must win, Saints need to not only pull clear of both Reading and bottom club QPR, but try to pull a few clubs above them bnack into the relegation fight.

With the next two games both being at home and both being against sides down at the bottom, Saints have an ideal chance to give themselves a real boost before entering the busy Xmas period and also have the bonus of a two week rest due to the postponement of the Chelsea game, this could be vital with a busy period of games coming up fast and furious over the month after the Reading clash.

With Saints seemingly unable to get even a point away from home against anyone not in the bottom three, then home wins are essential if we are to survive.
