Swansea Council Press Release

SWANSEA sports fans from all over the world can monitor building progress at the city's landmark new stadium without going further than their nearest PC.

The £24m White Rock stadium will be home to Swansea's rugby and football teams when it opens at the beginning of the 2005 season.

And now it's got its own website which tracks building work every week and offers visitors a wealth of information about the site's past, present and future.

Swansea Council's Cabinet Member for Development, Byron Owen said, "I'm delighted to see that we now have a website for the stadium project, as it means football and rugby supporters as well as everyone in Swansea can find out the latest news on it at the touch of a button."

The stadium, which will provide a new venue for rugby and football in our city as well as hosting events such as concerts, should be completed in time for the 2005-2006 season, and is currently well on schedule.

Cabinet Member for Culture and Recreation, Robert Francis Davies said, "this is a great opportunity for people in Swansea to get a close look at a project which will bring huge benefits to our city."
