FOOTBALL LEAGUE TROPHY FINAL - MEET THE OFFICIALS

Meet The Officials - Football League Trophy Final

The Referee: Tony Leake (Lancashire)

The referee for the Football League Trophy Final will be Anthony Leake from Lancashire; Mr Leake is an experienced referee and became a Football League referee in 1995. This will be his second visit to the Millennium stadium; he refereed the Division 3 play off Final in 2002.

He has refereed one Swansea game this season, in the 2-2 away draw with Hartlepool back in September. From what I remember of his performance he did very well, he talked to the players in a good manner and let the game flow, he only booked one Swans player in that game. This season Mr Leake averages just 2.42 Yellow cards per game.

The two assistant referees will be Ian Gosling from Kent and John Pearce from Norfolk. Thankfully the 4th Official won't be on the field, but on the touchline instead, the 4th Official is Clive Penton from Sussex (many will remember Clive Penton from the Bristol City away game this season).

Anthony Leake's Stats 05/06 (as of 18-03-06)

33 Games, 74 Yellows, 4 Reds.

Fourth Official: Clive Penton (Sussex)

The Fourth Official for the Football League Trophy Final is Clive Penton from Sussex, he became a Football League referee in 2001 and produces 3.15 Yellow cards per game this season. He has also sent off 9 players this season!

Mr Penton needs no introduction to Swans fans; he refereed our game against Bristol City away in January where we lost 1-0. He booked 7 Swans players and sent off Tom Williams in that game.

This will be his first visit to the Millennium Stadium but let's hope he stays on the touchline.

Clive Penton's Stats 05/06 (as of 18-03-06):

33 Games, 104 Yellows, 9 Reds.
