Duffy Reported To Be On Way

Reports in Hull have suggested that Swansea are on the verge of completing a deal with former on loan striker Darryl Duffy.

The deal appears to have been given the green light by Hull manager Phil Brown after new Tigers chairman Paul Duffen afforded him the luxury of the time to make his decision on the player who made a positive impact at the Liberty Stadium at the end of last season.

Chairman Huw Jenkins told the Evening Post yesterday "The new Hull chairman has phoned me and we've had a chat about it," Jenkins added. "He got in touch because he knows we had been discussing Darryl's situation. "Darryl had a good spell with us at the end of last season and we know he would fit in quickly here, which is important. But the ball remains in Hull's court. "We found it hard to understand how a club could sign a player (for £250,000) and then argue that his valuation should go up when he hasn't really played for them. "I think now Darryl's future will depend on their manager. He (Phil Brown) will have to decide what players they want to bring in and who they need to move out."

And with reports now suggesting that Brown has made his mind up, Duffy could find himself a Swansea player before the week is out and the first replacement for the 'contract rebels' already in hand.
