Swans Look To Remain On Top

Swansea v Hartlepool - Match Preview

You can safely say that after the 2-1 win over Swindon, only the most optimistic of fans would have believed that the next two league games would yield not just 6 points but 9 goals in the process but that is exactly what happened. A five goal rout at then top side Orient was followed by a 4-1 win at now bottom Bournemouth to propel the Swans to the top of the division on goal difference.

It though is still a tight division with just three points separating us and Yeovil Town in 9th place meaning that the games are all important at the moment as we try and build on the momentum that has seen us take 16 points from the last 21 available. Form like that is better than promotion winning form and to be honest many of those points have been gained without us hitting top gear and includes 5 victories in the last 7 league wise.

And with the side scoring for fun we can only hope that the sections that get on their backs too early can hold out tomorrow knowing that the form is good meaning the results should follow sooner rather than later. It needs to be an attitude of being behind the side rather than barracking them and let them do what they are clearly proving that they can do.

Roberto welcomes back into his thinking the five returnees from injury - Leon Britton, Andy Robinson, Darryl Duffy, Owain Tudur Jones and Alan Tate - but at best some of them are expected to feature on the bench as he is almost certain to stick with the players that have taken us where we are. That will give us a line up of

Doris

Rangel Monk Lawrence Painter

Butler Bodde Pratley Anderson

Feeney Scotland

And with Jason Scotland promising to be back in the goals and Tom Butler up against one of his former clubs you would hope that there is goals in that team. Incidentally Butler can be backed at 28/1 to score first goal tomorrow which may just be worth sticking a couple of squids on if you have them spare.

Hartlepool striker Ian Moore serves a one-match ban and is likely to be replaced by Antony Sweeney.

Andy Monkhouse is now fully fit after a hamstring injury and could feature, while David Foley may also play.

Score wise it's just not worth trying to predict at the moment with the Swans being totally unpredictable (or is it I am just rubbish at it?) but I really can't see beyond a home win tomorrow which will set us up nicely to finally break that Yeovil hoodoo next week!
