Bye In The JP Trophy

Saints are through to the second round of their best chance of silverwear

Make no bones about it Saints best chance of a trophy this season rests squarely on winning the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and luckily enough we have been handed a bye in the first round, meaning our first ball wont be kicked in anger until October.

Whilst some will see this competition as perhaps beneath us, the fact is it represents a good chance for the supporters to have a good day out a Wembley, OK it isnt the FA Cup, Carling Cup or even a play off final, but its still the chance to visit the new stadium as a club for the first time, older Saints fans will tell you that although are progress to the Zenith Data Final in 1992, wasnt exactly a story of packed crowds and excitement, the final itself was notto be missed, 35,000 Saints fans made Wembley the Dell for the day and roared on the team as if it was one of the aforementioned big games, ask Luton fans what they think of the JP Trophy and they will tell a similar tale, so why no use thiscompetition to keep the momentum going, after the last five years we need every bit of good times we can get.
