Dorus De Vries believes this is the time for the Swans to play total football

The Swansea City goalkeeper told the Western Mail “It’s the time to play total football

“We have to be the total package. As always, we will try and continue to dominate teams and rely on the confidence that we have when we play.

“If we can work as a unit like we have done all season, things will be looking really good.

“We’ve got the strikers to score goals up front, but if we don’t perform at the back then it’s no use.

“We can score as many goals as we like, but we won’t be winning. There are different players who have been important in the season at different times and that’s great.

“We have had players pull us out of different situations when we’ve needed them to and that’s a good thing.

“We could not have come this far without a great belief in the squad and we will use that in the final games,” said de Vries.

“We’ve done an okay job, it could be a lot better but we look ahead. It’s as simple as that.

“People talk about the Norwich match and, of course, it is a big game, but every game from now until the end of the season counts.

“The margin is getting smaller. After every game we play there are less points available.

“We are closing in on the finish line.

“We need to keep both feet on the ground and the way this team is set up doesn’t allow people to get carried away.

“We know that what we are fighting for could change many people’s lives.

“We know we can write history for Swansea. We did it when we got promotion from League One, but this could be a totally new step once again.

“There are seven games left before the story of the season ends and we have to make sure for us it is a happy ending.”
