Saints Linked With Steven Caulker Again Thursday, 17th Jul 2014 12:57 Reports from the South Wales media are again linking Saints with a bid for Cardiff central defender Steven Caulker.
According to the South Wales Post, Steven Caulker has been left behind as Cardiff travel to Austria for their pre season tour.
Caulker has a buy out clause in his contract enabling him to leave for a return to a Premier League club and Saints are believed to be one of several interested in his services, a few days ago Crystal Palace looked to be on the verge of securing his services, but that deal seems to have cooled of late amid rumours that Saints have met the buy out clause valuation and are free to talk to him.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that he will not select Caulker for first team duty till he commits his future to the club and it seems likely that Caulker will leave sooner than later for a return to the Premier league. Certainly he would seem a good fit for Saints who could do with a player of his standing, hopefully to play alongside Dejan Lovren or if neccessary as his replacement.

Is he a corker? I don't know? But if he plays alongside Cork, the commentary will be too much to bear!

I've stated on here before that we should be looking at Caulker and Marshall,a long term replacement for Fonte and must replacement for Gazziniga the media boys will be in a frenzy if we did sign Caulker means Lovren must be going,

A back four of Clyne, Lovren, Caulker, Targett with Fonte and chambers in reserve is starting to look promising..........

I wish we would hurry up and get him seems like a no brainer at £8m. Bertrand is also valued at £8m hopefully we could have a couple in the squad for the Euro's too

Caulker sounds like our type of player. Still do not understand the silence over Jack Cork, after J Rod offered 5 year deal and 4 premiership clubs supposedly interested in Corkie. Come on RK offer Corkie a deal or fans favourite could be off. He's never let us down.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Southampton Polls |
