Saints Brace Themselves For Forster Bid Sunday, 10th Aug 2014 14:00 Saints are preparing to issue a hands off notice to Liverpool as the Merseyside giants look likely to make a bid for Fraser Forster any minute now. The advantage of signing a player late on a Saturday night is that the coaching and managerial staff at Liverpool will not be working until Monday morning thus giving us 36 hours without having to worry about Brendan Rodgers throwing in a cheeky bid. Liverpool will of course be disappointed that they are unable to start unsettling the player straight away with the Sunday Papers already gone to press by the time Forster was confirmed as a Southampton player. However Rodgers may have a reprieve in his waiting time with Ronald Koeman in the crowd for their friendly with Borussia Dortmund on Sunday afternoon, this could offer Rodgers the opportunity to put in a bid straight after the game for Forster as well as enquire after Bertrand, Tadic, Pelle and Taider, with Liverpool having been in the States for the past couple of weeks it has left him running a little behind in his unsettling opportunities, he is believed to have already apologised on the phone to Ryan Bertrand for not being able to get any rumours in the press about signing him since he joined Saints, but assured him it is nothing personal and he hopes by Tuesday to have the likes of the BBC's Ben Smith salivating about Bertrand's desperation to leave crisis club Saints. Hopefully Saints fans will get a chance to see Forster in a Saints shirt, but a week is a long time in football so just whose shirt the now former Celtic keeper will be wearing up at Anfield next Sunday is still open to speculation. Breaking News. Liverpool will be holding an open day for all Saints players on Tuesday afternoon at the De Vere Hotel, Brendon Rodgers will make a key note address and there will also be representatives from the Liverpool Tourist Board, local Estate agents as well as local celebrities to give those attending all the information and advice they will need if they are considering joining Liverpool football club.
