LoftforWords has made the final shortlist in two categories of the national fanzine awards.

The process of selecting winners in the first annual fanzine awards has been a long and thorough one with nominations made before Christmas and then a voting process taking place to determine which fanzines and websites should go forward to the final judging panel.

We’re delighted to say that LoftforWords will now be assessed by the judges in the categories of Best Championship Fanzine and Best Editor.

As you’ll know from our links section we’ve got stiff competition for recognition from many other sites, fanzines and blogs from QPR fans never mind other teams and it’s no surprise to see the excellent A Kick Up the R’s and QPR Report receiving nominations as well. Congratulations to Dave Thomas and Mike from the Report Blog on their nominations.

QPR has two of the ten nominations in the Championship Fanzine category and we face competition from Ipswich, Plymouth, Stoke and Watford among others.

Personally I’m up against some very stiff competition in the editor category with the likes of Ipswich’s ‘Those Were The Days’ and Bradford’s City Gent boasting excellent print magazines to go with their websites.

Hopefully we’ll do enough to impress the judges and win but failing that it’s very rewarding to have your work recognised. I never thought we’d get this far in the competition and I’d like to thank everybody who took the time to nominate the site, the writers and myself. It makes all the hard work Tony, Tracy, David and others put in seem worthwhile.
