Saints Set To Hijack Move For Kongolo
Sunday, 25th Jan 2015 22:39

Saints are allegedly about to scupper Manchester United And City's attempts to sign Terence Kongolo from Feyenoord, although Chelsea are still hovering.

The Manchester giants were both hoping to tie up a deal for the 20 year old before the transfer deadline for a fee believed to be around £3 million plus add ons

City looked to be in the lead to bring Kongolo to England due to the fact that his younger brother Rodney is in the City U18 side.

However the Koeman Touch is coming into play and the player who can play either in central defence or at left back could be swayed to join Saints due to the fact that he would immediately be in the first team running at St Mary's something he would not be at either of the other three clubs.

So far this season Kongolo has been a regular in the Feyenoord side and has won 59% of his tackles, 65% of his aerial duels and completed 80% of his passes, he forced his way into the Feyenoord side on a regular basis in the second half of last season under Ronald Koeman and has continued that good form this season, he is building up a big reputation, but do not write off the influence of Ronald Koeman in ultimately swinging the balance in Saints favour.

If we're bringing Mongols to St. Mary's, will they have to leave their weapons at the gate? At least we'll have some fighting spirit!
