Fabianski Disappointed By Result

Lukasz Fabianski says that all the players were disappointed by the Swans result at Sunderland today after they had more than enough chances to win the game but in the end had to settle for a point.

The Swans dominated large periods of the game but were denied by a mixture of the woodwork and the brilliance of Pantillimon particularly in the second half and were then undone by a killer blow when sloppy play let in Jermaine Defoe.

It kept alive the Swans unbeaten start to the new Premier League season but it could have been so different had at least two efforts from the head of Ayew and Gomis gone a few inches to the right.

If you watch the game back there was very little that Fabianski had to do to protect his goal and he can certainly take no blame for the goal that Sunderland did score but you can sense his frustration when he talked after the match about what could have been

“All of the lads are a bit disappointed by the final result because we had a few really good chances to put the game away, especially at the start of the second half,” said the Polish international goalkeeper.

“We knew that after their recent results, the first 30 minutes of the first half was going to be difficult - a lot of aggressiveness.

But after that first 30 minutes, we were very good, and as we started to manage the game a bit better, we created chances.

“Bafe took his goal really well at an important moment, but we could’ve scored more though."
