Saints Already Being Linked With Another Dutch Striker
Thursday, 12th Nov 2015 11:33

Only 45 seconds after being linked with Luc Castaignos, apparently Ronald Koeman is already casing another Dutch striker with exactly the same rabid enthusiasm he apparently has for Castaignos.

WE are only minutes into the last 50 days before the transfer window opens and already we have another player being linked with Saints and surprise surprise it's a Dutch striker.

Despite Ronald Koeman stating he feels Pelle is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and having four other strikers with International pedigree, apparently Koeman wants more and the latest to be added to the list is PSV Eindhoven's Luuk de Jong.

De Jong has already had a short loan spell at Newcastle which didn't set any fires alight, but since returning to Holland has rediscovered his form with PSV, prompting rumours he may move in the summer if the Dutch side fail to qualify from the Champions League stages.

Of course an easy link is Ronald Koeman who will buty anything to remind him of his own Country after purchasing the Bursledon Windmill recently

Is this on the back of the Pelle to Juve or Man U gossip? REALLY don't want to lose him, he's irreplaceable at the moment and there's a rare opportunity this season to do something special. However, he's 30.....and even I couldn't argue with Les if manure came in with really big bucks, but not if it's based purely on economics and we haven't got someone as good lined up! 'Cheap with potential' has been ticking most of the boxes so far but at sometime we'll have to 'act on the moment' or it will never actually happen.
I say resist all approaches this season , I can smell the silverware and/ or a high enough
finish to encourage our top players to stay and enjoy the ride.

Our structure is based on buying low, developing and selling when someone offers above the market rate, nothing wrong with that, but I think we need to sell in summers rather than mid seeason

Saint Nick, obviously selling high and buying low makes sense, the club's done brilliantly in that respect, but we've got to 'stick' sometime or the tangible success we crave will forever be just around the corner!

Sorry to hog this one but I forgot.........If true, this striker business could signal big concerns about the recovery of Jay Rodriguez?

Jay's condition worries me as well, hope it is not career ending but doesn't sound good.
