Forster Returns To Group Training Sessions
Saturday, 5th Dec 2015 11:15

Fraser Forster has taken a step closer to his comeback after joining the rest of his Saints goalkeeping colleagues training group.

Fraser Forster is ahead of schedule on the comeback trail, although he won't be fit enough for a return to first team action this side of the New Year.

He has joined the goalkeeping sessions at Staplewood although he is a way off full pelt and full training with the first team squad, but it is a step in the right direction and once he has returned to full training rather than the light sessions at the moment, he can be given come back games in the academy squad to prepare himself for being able to be considered for first team contention.

Ronald Koeman said.

“Fraser Forster is doing well,”

“Thursday morning he was with the rest of the goalkeepers doing the session and I think already it is ten days that he had four or five good goalkeeper sessions with Dave Watson.

“The planning is that he will be part of the sessions in the next two weeks.

“The first game will be in the under-21s or we have to organise a friendly but it’s difficult because we need to play a lot in the next couple of weeks.

“He’s doing well, he’s really confident and everybody is happy how Fraser did his time and his mentality to come back as soon as possible.”
