Saints Have Game Moved For TV Thursday, 17th Dec 2015 12:11 Saints game against West Ham United at St Mary's has been moved for TV but dont hold your breath as it might be moved yet again.
Saints will now play West Ham United at St Mary's on Monday 8th February with an 8pm kick off with the game being moved from its original date on Saturday 6th February t 3pm.
But it might be moved yet again if either club is involved in an FA Cup fourth round replay, as those are scheduled o take place in that week.
If that is the case then the game will be moved back to the Saturday but with a 5.30pm kick off again for live TV.
Once again this is a case of the football fan who actually supports his team by attending games being put behind TV scheduling and the armchair fan in the priority stakes.

Completely agree with your sentiment. I wonder how full the ground will be on Boxing Night.

Technically its sold out now, but you can buy/sell tickets through their season ticket exchange scheme, I know quite a few who wont be able to make it though, either through no transport or their family putting their foot down

Total agreement! Like many season ticket holders,I'm not from So'ton. For Boxing Day it will be a trip from my Basingstoke home to Thatcham to pick up my sister, then down A34 to see the match then drop her back home before arriving home myself at about 23.30-2400hrs. I have not got Sky etc., my old age pension does not run to that. I spent enough getting the season ticket! I also have to think of petrol and parking costs each game, which are not cheap. Boxing Day at 11:00 a.m. would have been nice,15:00 p.m. ok., but after that is a Boxing Day write off.

Its a knock on effect, because of the late kick off boxing day, the game at west ham is pushed back to 5.30pm, like an extra 2 1/2 hours rest will make all the difference

The moving of KO times/days is one of the reasons I didn't renew my season tickets this year (Admittedly I thought we would also progress in the Europa League & Sunday matches would clash with my lads games). The Boxing Day game is a classic example of this, the league makes a big thing of keeping the festive season matches, which is my favourite time of the year to watch games, then for TV demands we are moved to 7.45pm. Add to that the lack of public transport on this day & it becomes difficult to attend for a lot of people not just for Saints fans but as in important the Arsenal supporters.

I agree that these changing kick off time are a pain but its SKY who call the shots as the pay for for the premier league. They finance the soccer mercenaries that play for all our clubs. Very few if any play for the shirt anymore that why we see them leave at the drop of a hat for bigger bucks not a case of more of winning trophies. Dont get me wrong if there ant good pay them but most cant even shoot straight or cross a ball. Anyway if you cant make any game for what ever reason there is always a website or 5 that will show the game live at home and if its bad theres always the off button. RANT OVER.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Southampton Polls |
