Saints Go Head To Head With Spurs For Winger
Tuesday, 22nd Mar 2016 21:42

Saints are being reported as being up against Tottenham Hotspur to sign a teenage winger from the Eridivisie.

Saints are interested in Vitesse Arnhem winger Milot Rashica, but face competition from both Spurs and Everton according to reports.

Rashica was born in Albania and made his debut at age 16 for Kosova Rushtrri, he had trials in August 2013 for German clubs Hanover 96 and Union Berlin although nothing came of them, he also had an offer from KAA Gent in Belgium but turned them down to stay with Kosova.

In September 2014 he joined Vitesse on a trial basis making the move permanent in the summer of 2015, making his first team debut for the club against Saints at St Mary's as a substitute.

His performances this season have seen him play and score regularly for Vitesse bringing him to the attention of several Premier League clubs including Saints.

He has yet to win a full cap for Albania although he is tipped to not only earn it but also to be in the squad as Albania head for the Euros.

He'd be cheap, about £1M and can play on either wing so he'd fit in with with Saints versatility policy. Maybe a replacement for the unfulfilled Juanmi?

Halftimeorange: He would fill a Juanmi sized space on the bench I suppose...

Usual press rubbish even before the season has ended.
