Still Plenty Of Cheap Flight Options Available To Get To Milan
Tuesday, 20th Sep 2016 21:24

With Saints receiving an extra 3,700 tickets for the trip to Inter Milan the issue could be about getting to Milan for those who now find themselves able to buy a ticket.

There are still plenty of cheap options for Saints fans wanting to travel to Milan for the Europa League games next month, Milan is served by two International airports Malpenza and Linate and there are also others within reasonable travel distance.

Ryanair for instance is doing return flights to Bergamo from Stansted for only £106 departing on the Wednesday and returning on the Friday, Bergamo is only a short distance from Milan and can be reaced by train for around 6 euros each way.

Easyjet has plenty of availability on flights to Milan's main airports at around £160 return from Luton and BA and Alitalia have plenty of seats available although they are slightly dearer.

Being flexible with dates can also find a few good deals, going for three nights for example can work out cheaper than two, if you go out on the Tuesday or return on the Saturday.

Another trick is to look at flying in to another airport, both Florence and Pisa are well served by UK Airports and are 1hr 40 minutes by train to Milan costing about 27 euros each way.

Even flying to Rome is not out of the question it is just under 3 hrs by train and 44 euros each way.

Some of the airlines also work out cheaper if you book a flight and hotel package and on line travel sites like Expedia have three day flight and hotel deals starting at around £230 pp.

There are also various travel companies arranging trips, Travel Counsellors have a trip going at £265 pp, more info can be obtained from michael.barry@travelcounsellors.com.

Southampton Away Travel who run coaches to all domestic games have a trip by coach down to Milan at £249 pp with two nights in a hotel in Milan, more details can be obtained from info@southamptonawaytravel.co.uk.

All in all Milan is a very easy place to get to and it wont break the bank if you look around and find the trip that suits you best, this is going to be Saints biggest ever European Away game, we are already assured of having our best ever away support in Europe why not make it even better by joining in the party !
