Central Defender To Undergo Medical At Saints !
Sunday, 25th Jun 2017 21:15
The latest media reports from Poland suggest that Lech Poznan defender Jan Bednarek could undergo medical at Southampton as early as Monday.
Saints don't appear to be put off by Bednarek's showing against England U21's earlier this week when he was red carded for a second yellow offence in conceding the penalty that guaranteed England's progression to the semi final.
Saints are being reported in Poland as paying a record fee for a Polish player leaving the country with a fee reported as being 6 million Euros with a possible 2 million extra in add ons.
Saints fans will be hoping that Bednarek will be another in the line of defenders that Saints have discovered in Europe and brought into the club ans turned into Premier League class central defenders.
This looks set to be the first signing of the Mauricio Pellegrino era at St Mary's, however the deal seems to have been in place for some weeks and has only been held up by Bednarek's participation in the European U21 championships.

Too many things for a title, but stop with the xenophobia accusations! by waynekerr55
I had planned to write this in a different fashion, but Bob Bradley's departure from the club changes a section of this blog. The conclusion was as expected. A seemingly good man and a tryer who simply wasn't up to the job. In short he should never have been given the job.
A New Hope At the Liberty? by BarneyLW
A feeling of déjà vu rose with the sun over Swansea this morning. Another manager out the door, another few days of links, speculation, supposed sightings of candidates spotted outside Rossi’s sampling the scampi. But for the first time in recent memory, there is hope in the air.
Swans Fans Were Angry- In A Totally Positive Way How a Common Enemy Helped Guidolin’s side pull of by BarneyLW
A return from the international break, which in truth was needed to clear the air around the club. A frustrating transfer market compounded and exacerbated back-to-back defeats against Hull City and the champions, Leicester. Boardroom shake-ups and a tough run of games has given the Jack Army little to be optimistic about.
Guidolin and Conte- An Italian Managerial Head to Head by BarneyLW
A different league in a different country for two familiar foes; on Sunday Francesco Guidolin's Swansea host Antonio Conte's Chelsea side. So how does the head to head record look from their previous encounters in Italy?
The Mood: What's going on at Swansea City? by BarneyLW
There is nothing new or indeed out of the ordinary with a defeat being met by raucous displeasure among the Jack Army. There is nothing particularly new about a hyperbolic spread of opinion in where things should be going better, or if things really are that bad at all. But there is a strange feeling around Swansea City at the moment.
