MK Dons 1 Swansea City 4 - Swans Stroll Into Round Three

If we needed a confidence boosting win this evening then a strong Swans line up got just that despite an early scare as four goals sent us into the next round of the League Cup at MK Dons.

Two goals from Leroy Fer, a first competitive goal for the Swans from Tammy Abraham and a late Jordan Ayew strike put some respectability on a game that the Swans dominated and fully deserved the win that we got.

64% possession, 5 times as many attempts at goal and four times the amount of goals tells it's own story as the Swans found the passage relatively simple despite the home side opening the scoring just after he quarter hour mark.

Both Leroy Fer's goals were header - one from a Jay Fulton cross and the other from a Tom Carroll cross and sandwiched some wasteful finishing from the Swans with Angel Rangel in particular guilty of missing two good chances.

At the other end, Ed Upson forced Kristoffer Nordfeldt into a good save away to his right from 25 yards as the Dons stemmed the tide and asked some questions of their own.

Abraham made it 3-1 on 72 minutes, turning home from close range following more good work by Ayew and Jordan himself finished the scoring when he hit into the bottom corner from 20 yards with just five minutes left.

An attendance of 5.162 was respectable enough for this stage of the competition with over 500 Swans fans in attendance as we completed the first step in a competition that we won in 2013.
